I've left a 4 year abusive relationship on Christmas Eve . My ex attacked me and smashed up my house and our daughters Christmas presents . He then attacked me again and tried to kill me and I got him charged . He's now saying he wants access to our young daughter but I'm afraid he'll hurt her too he isn't on the birth certificate and has a bad record do you think he'll get anywhere at court ? , not sure if he'll go ahead with it as he hasn't ever been bothered about her

no I highly doubt it but I'm not lawyer if he tried to kill you whether it wasn't abuse to your daughter she was still present during this and she shouldn't be left alone with a person like this whether he physically abused her or not he is still abusive. Did you ever go to court and get full custody if not you should go and do that. The number one thing on a custody order is drug abuse and physical abuse of another parent that is taken very very serious.

Good morning honey! I believe that you can also ask the judge to require him to go to at the least anger management as a stipulation of being granted supervised visitation with your child. If he doesn't go to the classes then he will lose visitation. I know this is an option in SC. I pray things work out for you and your child. God bless you.

If the assaults aren't against children, they might. Unfortunately, while supervised may be your only option, it won't end up being up to you.

You can get supervision arranged with outside agencies if you are concerned about him abusing the person who is nominated to supervise. It does cost $, but it is possible.

All of this is something you would need to talk to a lawyer about.

Okay thanks .. He's still in bother now getting different assault charges would they really put a child in his care ? Supervised would be my only option but he's really violent and would use this as a source to cause the family member dropping and picking my child up to give them abuse and threats

It is possible he will get visitation. After all, his abuse was toward you, not the child. You'd need to provide evidence that he is a danger to the child. You could possibly push for supervised visitation. It is best to have a talk to a lawyer about the situation.
