- I can't seem to find the right formula for my infant (almost three months old). I first had him on a gentle but he threw up a lot and was having solid poops that he struggled with. We then put him on a soy and also gave him 2oz of juice every other day (per dr) but he was throwing it up so now we tried a sensitive and he still seems to throw up a lot. Not just a spit up - its like projectile - like throwing everything up he ate. I notice when I am feeding him he cries a lot and I feel his belly almost making noises. Does this mean he has reflux? If so any suggestions on a good formula? I hate to keep going through formulas but I want to find one that is right for him. I feel bad for him the way he is right now. Thanks!!!

My baby was on Aptamil colic and constipation (can be used for either) and that seemed to work for us. He was constipated from SMA that we initially started hom off on and had a bit of colic... He used to spit up al lot but that is better now (he is now 5 months). My doctor said that reflux is very severe and they actually throw up, majority of the feed. If this is the case you may want to take him/her to the doctor. For us it was trial and error, before the Aptamil colic and constipation he was on the Aptamil number 1.

You may want to try a different type of bottle. Sometimes it is not the formula but the type of bottle/nipple that is the problem. Try to find a bottle that has a very small hole in the nipple and has a slow flow. Some nipples will say slow flow, but the flow is still too fast.

My little girl did that and we had to put her on the ready to feed sensitive soy formula, by the time she was 6mo she went to powder with no problem, the weird part to me was she was having a hard time on breastmilk too, I thought it was reflux but the Dr. told me it was, she is 15mo now and long and lean and into EVERYTHING, but it was a rough first 6mo! best wishes and prayers to you and your little one :o)

My son had reflux and I talked to my herbalist and he put my son on chamomile tea and feeding smaller meals more often. That worked really well for my son. I know alternative medicine isn't for everyone but I thought I'd offer for those interested. And I talked with his doctor about it too and the doctor said the tea was fine for him.

I was thinking it's reflux. The only formula I saw or heard of for that was through Similac and is expensive. So I thought I would ask on here. I am going to call the dr tomorrow. I feel so bad for him. Thanks for the reply!

It sounds like reflux to me. It really won't matter what formula you put him on. See if the dr can prescribe him prevacid. Both my kids were on this from birth to one yr of age. You can take one pill, cut it in half, dissolve it in water and feed it to him through a dropper 2X a day (one pill total per day in other words).

My baby did this and turned out he had reflux. We got a prescription for a med from the pediatrician and it changed feeding for him. It was so much better. We even went back to the regular formula, which was good because it's less expensive. Now he is almost 10 months and off the medicine and doing very well.
