So last night I noticed some cradle cap on my babys eyebrows (my baby is 1 month old) and got a wash cloth and some baby body soap and water and scrubbed the area in circular motion, then by the time I was done I noticed my babys eyes getting swelled up and he had only half of his eyebrows left on each side...Does anyone know if the hair will regrow? And if it will affect my babys eyesight? The swelling has gone down a little but Im worried that I might have done some damage to him :-(

I used mineral oil and a baby tooth brush. As medic mommy mentioned, you shouldn't have to apply much pressure in order for the cradle cap to losen up.

Do you mean cradle cap? and eyebrows always grow back. You might have scrubbed too hard to cause swelling and loss of hair though.

Edited to add

My daughter got cradle cap and we used olive oil and a soft bristle brush to gently rub her scalp. It worked

Bonnie and Sarah my friends had told me to use a tooth brush but I could not convince my then 3 year old that it was ok to brush his sisters head with a tooth brush...so I gave up that idea.

I used a little baby oil and a soft tooth brush. Works great and smells good too!

Probably not. Just get a soft baby brush and some olive oil for next time and you shouldn't even have to apply pressure.

Yes I didnt mean to scrub hard..i thought I was scrubbing it in a soft way but I felt really bad after that cuz he was left with half of his eyebrows...Do you think it affects his eyesight at all?
