I am 28 weeks pregnant with my second and have been hospitalized 3 times for extremely bad morning sickness and was proscribed phenergan. The meds help me keep some food and liquid down but at night I tend to get worse and worse... I have tried mint, ginger, teas, crackers, hard candy not eating for 4- 5 hours before going to bed but it seems like no matter what I do as soon as I lay down I feel like I will be ill. I havent been getting much sleep and my doctor doesnt have any more suggestions. Does anyone have any good ways to fix nausea? PLEASE

Absolutely eat small bites of things all day long, mild foods are best. And sipping water is also good. Don't let your belly get empty. Fasting is a terrible idea, it makes you sicker. I am taking a whole food prenatal that contains herbs for nausea called New Chapter Perfect Prenatal, and it did help me through my first trimester, the worst morning sickness I've had in 7 pregnancies. The good news is that it usually doesn't last past 12 weeks, so you shouls be feeling better soon. Sounds miserable, hope you feel better.

I thought about this and I found that pretzles help to settle my belly better than ant thing else, but it has to be the rods. Also you might want to try eating several times throughout the day lots of little meals.

When I was pregnant with my twins and #6 I had to sleep on the couch at an angle because my reflux was making me sick. I also wonder if you are dehydrated. Try to drink more water during the day when you are feeling better. Dehydration can upset your stomach. Because your are sick just drink a sip or two of water every 15 minutes.

Phenergan is a treatment for travel sickness and mild sleep disorders and is usually used for kids! This sounds awful I feel sorry for ya, I had sickness for for the first 20 weeks but not this bad. At least you are on the home stretch now 12 weeks to go. I would suggest you eat every couple of hours and sip liquids as often as possible. Having something in your stomach for the meds to work on is a good idea. Try fresh pineapple that seemed to work for me. I put it in the fridge as well which seemed to make a difference.

Mix a pinch of nutmeg powder with a table spoon of gooseberry juice, and take it thrice a day. Also, I take No to morning sickness tea. It helps.

not eating is entirely the wrong thing to do. you have to constantly eat small things, like crackers, pretzels, etc every hour. Never let your stomach get empty. Also, some recent research has shown that protein helps, so try cheese sticks. I also liked the combination of sour and salty-- like lemonade with pretzels. Try getting preggy pops too, they worked for me a little bit. Good luck! I wa so sick through all of my pregnancies so I know how you feel.

Try taking dairy out of your diet. Also try eliminating other things. My niece has severe sickness and also had to be on phenergan. Eliminating helped her. (also she ate LOTS of sunflower seeds to strengthen her sack- her sack was so strong the midwife couldn't break her water). good luck

Try Nauzeene!! You should be able to pick it up at any wal-mart or pharmacy in your area. My doctor told me it was fine to take while I was pregnant. It works AMAZINGLY well! My nausea went away within minutes after taking it, I still use it when I feel sick from time to time :).
