Short version: I need a first name that sounds good with the middle name Alita (pronounced ah-lee-tuh). Any suggestions? Explanation of the name below.

Long version: I am having my third child in October, we don't even know the gender yet, but we have 2 girls already so I'm guessing girl. Anyway, if the baby is a girl I want to name her after my grandmother, Alita. I would use her middle name but it's Marie, pretty... but waaaay too overused as a middle name in my opinion. SO I was hoping to go with Alita for a middle name but am having trouble finding a suitable first name that doesn't sound awkward with it. I can't use Alita as a first name because my husband has a rule that our kids can't have their first name named after anyone we know. So there it is...suggestions?

Wow, Alita is a very pretty name. Its a shame you can't convince hubby to use it as a first name !

The baby book we had explained how names flow best, shame I don't have it handy though. The basis was though that a name flows only when you the syllables are put in the correct order. I will get back to you if I find the book to explain the pattern better. But personally, here is my suggestions

Amelia Alita
Gabriella Alita
Charlotte Alita
Ava Alita
Emma Alita

I think I'm going with a theme of A or E ending names !

My husband says go with something simple like Julie Alita. I can't make up my mind so I'll just second what he says.
