Between 4-6 months. When they can sit up and support themselves (bumbo chairs really help with this) would be best. Start with a very small amount and watch to make sure his little belly can handle it.

The world health organisation recommends 6 months. Sometimes for different reasons paediatricians start babies at 4 months. Babies tell you when they are ready by becoming very interested in watching you eat, trying to grab the food and trying to touch your face to see what you are doing when you chew.

the most important thing is to watch and listen to your baby. If they are setting up and watching/memmicking you as you eat then give it a try. Your baby knows when they are ready.

I will tell you that my youngest is 5 months now and he has been eating babyfoods for 2 months now because the formula will not fill him up...I would suggest talk with your pediatrician to see what they say...but i agree go with your instincts of if you think your child is ready or not...

My pediatrican started my oldest at 3 months, but my son was 5 months......his criteria for starting them was their eating habits and holding their heads up, and what we felt comfortable with.

most pediatritians say to wait until the baby is 6months old. but some say 4 months. i say whenever your baby is ready. when they get an interest in food. watching you eat reaching for food, opening and closing mouth as if to imitate chewing, all signs that you rbaby is ready to start foods. the best thing to do is talk to your babys dr and see what they recommend for your baby
