I'm Heather, I'm a new mom of a little boy. I'm a stay at home mom and I get very lonely. I'm new to my town and don't know anyone. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to become less lonely?

I'm sorry you are having a rough time cuz! Until you convince your man to move by me...maybe some of these things can keep you busy! Try finger painting with little man! Of course he's too small to do it on his own, but make hand prints and draw with his hand for him...something you will appreciate when he is older too! When I get bored, I just start to exercise LOL! I bet you could get Carter to laugh while you were doing it too : ) Reading is always a fun activity that is also time consuming, keeps your imagination going. Work on a scrapbook of little man. Or pretend you are a professional photographer and dress him up and fill up those photo albums I got for you for the baby shower!!! And we will work on the other issues together! Love you!

First of this helps...This group is great. Next is get out there, Go to a nearby park, join a playgroup, or just go to the mall and walk. Make small conversation to someone that has a child around the age of yours. I hope this works. Jos

Hi Heather, I belong to a local mums group. We all live in the same suburb and meet at least once a week, sometimes more. It is good to have friends near by with bubs the same age. Does your community have something like this you can join? Could you ask your local public health nurse? Or local council? I also like doing mum & baby activities where we meet other mums and my baby makes more little friends to play with. We go to baby swimming lessons and baby gym. Hope this helps.

I am sooo in your boat girl! live in a small town, have very few friends, even less who have kids. I started the community "Mommy & Me Health Club" which I'm aiming towards younger, lets say "hipper" moms lol. We only have 7 members as of now but PLEASE read my description of the group, and JOIN. I am basically addicted to the internet and once you read about the group you'll understand why it's so important to me... but we can be online buds for sure!
