Hi, I am a stay at home mom also pursuing a Ph.D. with a baby with Autism. It is really hard. No one understands how hard it is that I never get a day off from being a mother. My husband works and thinks I do nothing it seems. He is always at work and I do not even drive anymore as he has the car.

I am also a stay at home mom with a 2yr old with ASD/ PDD NOS and I can relate to ur daily struggles. It seems that it takes the fathers longer to accept the reality of the diagnosis before they start to really understand what we as mothers and primary caregivers go thru on a daily basis. I need just as much advice and help as the next mother. My son also has behavioral issues that can make day to day functions very difficult and stressful.

Hi im a stay at home mother of 2 children with autism. My husband works all week also and see my job as I do nothing. I feel you on how hard it is to take on this role. Ive bee m a stay at home mom for almost 3yrs now. I have a almost 3yr old daughter and a almost 2 yr old son both suffering from autism. All tho there case is not so high on the spectrum it still gets rough with all the yelling and screaming as communication. I almost always feel alone. My husband helps with what he can cause he has his licenses. Im in doors everyday taking care of my children and have lost touch with reality. Its just so hard.

It sounds like you are one strong lady! I admire you.

I have to remind myself often that my husband's life and mine are quite different, and both are equally hard. I think we both forget, sometimes, not walking in each other's shoes and feeling unappreciated.
