i get so sick of not having a weekend...5 days a week i do school run, cook meals, clean, wash, blah blah blah, on the weekend it is the same deal but more as all 3 kids are home, and if hubby has done night shift my weekend is exausting, i have to keep the kids quiet so he can sleep, this usually means going out, then when he goes to work i have to stay up all night and do house work, then today hubby has his day off, so after he gets up at 11 (he worked till 2.30) he had lunch, and went for a nap and i had to take the kids out for a play in the park by myself....now i'm exausted still have to cook dinner get the washing off the line and do baking for school lunches.. WHERE IS MY WEEKEND???

Going from working 5 days a week to 7 days a week was the hardest part about transitioning to motherhood for me. I totally feel your pain. Bottom line - you BOTH should get the same amount of down time. Period. Make it happen, because you deserve it!

Does DH help when he's around? Are you getting a full nights sleep each night? I'm sorry you are going through this. I don't really get a weekend either..its like as a SAHM we are always on duty..Doesn't seem fair. Do you guys ever go out just the two of you or do you get to go out by yourself ever? If that's not happening right now, it needs to start. That will help you a ton!

That's like my husband and myself......he works nights 6 days a week from 10pm to 730 am.....a little different but by the time he gets home he eats something and goes to bed.....my youngest is 6 months and doesn't sleep through the night.....he can't hold to much formula in so I feed h constantly (every 2 hours) so I don't sleep and my 2 girls are 3 and 2 (preschool starts in Sept for the 3yr old). So after hubby eats he goes to sleep, I need to give everyone breakfast, get them dressed do the dishes, I can't take a shower cuz I'm afraid of leaving all 3 alone....we also have to try to be quiet because we live in a 2 bedroom small apartment :( hopefully when the weather stays nice I'll have to take them out. I'm hoping he will get days.....bug then it will be the same thing except he won't be home.... So I definitely feel u...hope it gets better for u

Why don't you designate a day that YOU go out? Maybe with friends or just to the coffee shop to read.

yes he does help out, he is actually doing the school run right now....and i guess i was just exausted when i posted....which i guess was the point, he had just done 4 nights following 3 days and he was tired, i know that, and to degree it is myfault, he'll say go have a nap, but he does't take the kids out which means i actually no peace to have a nap....and i'm not much for napping anyhow, now he has days off so will help out but it is back to monday so there is actually no break for me....sadly mum/school works monday to friday roster cops work anyold time

i noticed he slept a full night and then took a nap. do you ever get to do that? I'm not saying he shouldn't but it would be fair for you to be able to take a nap as well!!
