Scrapbooking, Knitting, Blogging, Candle Making, Origami, Yoga and Meditation are a few hobbies you can think of taking up.

I go to an aerobics class once a week. I also go to a local library for toddler story time where the kids play and do crafts while the moms chat. Both are nice breaks for a little "me" time and adult conversation. I have a friend that comes over once a week as well. We usually go walking or sometimes stay in and talk. Finding things to do out of the house is always a good change.

Of course. For me the first 9 months was very overwhelming and I had a child that used to get up during the night so taking care of her whole day and night with not alot of sleep and ONLY nursing - no bottle mind made me sooo tired that I had no motivation for a long time to do anything. You need to find time somehow for yourself. If you are not happy it affects everyone around you! Do not worry you will get there but you need to find the motivation.

I do digital scrapbooking, its a lot cheaper than the other way and you don't have all the small pieces to worry about, it has turned in to a work from home opportunity for me to as now i design digital pages kits and embellishments and sell them my kids are a bit older now and im upping the steaks and making the die cut embellishments and rubber stamps and things now too. So i have turned a hobby into some extra cash.

Reading. :) Or after a crazy day with my two kids (4 and 2) I put on my headphones, turn up my music and close my eyes.

Coupon cutting. Haha!

Sounds crazy, but we don't have a lot of extra money and this is a hobby that saves money. Most other hobbies cost money.

I make a game out of seeing how much I can save. I get store adds in the Sunday paper and in my mail. I take those and see what deals they have and match those up with coupons that come in the paper and online. You can get some pretty cheap/FREE stuff that way.

moneysavingmom.com is a great resource to get you started

I know how you feel. I felt the same way when I first had my own. She is 2 now and I am still at home. I agree that you need to find something YOU like to do but I try and make time for the gym or you can put baby in stroller and go for walks. I also read and sometimes do pottery painting. You do not need to be an artist to paint pottery. Just a ceramic eg vase ,paint brush and acrylic paints and have fun.

I have a few pets, so I do things with them, set up the fish tanks and stuff like that. I draw a little too. Gardening is another thing I like to do. Love taking walks to the park with the baby and the dog.

I'm a 1st time SAHM too, with a 6 month old, and I know what you mean!!! I agree with Alina that there isn't much time to do the things that you want. Any spare time, i.e during naps, is spent doing housework or catching up on some Z's myself! However, I'm still feeling the need to do SOMETHING that is just for me :) I try to read, paint, or decorate at home. My son does pretty well at the childcare in my gym too which is a god send. I can work out knowing that he's being entertained and I check in on him whenever I want :) If I don't feel like driving into the gym then I'll pop in a dvd at home and jump about the place which seems to keep my son happy for about 10 minutes and then he's had enough :) How old is your baby?

Keep in mind that being a new mom, and a SAHM on top of that, you won't have time to do too much you WANT to do for a while . . . but I love to dance, which is good exercise and the kids can dance, too. I also sew, decorate and read. We have to find simple things to occupy us, and I'll take a walk or go outside on the patio and just take in the view. Bubble baths every weekend after I put the kids in bed is another thing I do. The key is to find something YOU enjoy, no matter what it is, and even if you only get 30 minutes for it, take it! If someone saw me dancing all over my house with total abandon they'd think I'd lost it, but it's a great release and keeps me sane.
