White tooth paste will also clean your necklaces and rings. Vinegar sprayed around your home's windows and doors will keep out bugs for up to a month.

If you burn your hand, finger or any other piece of skin, put soy sauce on it! It takes the burn out right away to relieve the pain, although you will still want to run it under cold water.

If you get a sunburn, put white vingear in a bowl and using a washcloth, gently pat it unto the burned area. It stinks, but it instantly takes the sting and burn out and helps to prevent blistering and peeling. As soon as your skin starts to feel hot again, feel free to put more on!

If you're a breastfeeder and out and about and baby has a diaper rash (any rash actually), you or baby has a cut, put breastmilk on it! It clears up rashes much faster than the creams and kills germs in open wounds. This also works for burns, pink eye and stuffy noses!

If you have a bad cough and your throat is swollen and irritated, put a cold washcloth on it at night to reduce the swelling.

a bowl of water with some dish soap in it will attract and kill asian beetles (they drown).

Once a week throw your sponge in the microwave for a minute to kill germs. Also, throw a microwave safe bowl or cup of water in the microwave, turn it on until it boils, it loosens food particles and greases and splatters for super easy clean up!

Once a month, disinfect your toothbrush by pouring some mouthwash in a dixie cup and putting your brush, bristle side down, in it overnight.

Sprinkle baking soda in your kitty litter, trash can, down your garbage disposal or any other stinky spots in your house for a day or two...it sucks up the bad odors. Put fresh orange peels down the garbage disposal and turn it on for better results!

Use baby oil after you shower instead of lotion, buff off all the extra with a towel and your skin feels great in the winter!

If a baby is vomiting or has diarrhea boil rice in water until WAY over cooked, strain rice into a bowl. Allow the water to cool and give them the water. I've never seen a child turn down the water and it has carbs for all their losing with the sickness, and good hydration, also plugs them up a bit to curb the diarrhea. It's stopped tummy troubles in their tracks in our house.

Also put baby powder in baby's sock before putting it on their feet (and in their shoe) for stinky feet (pulls mointure away from smelly toes)

If you have a dog who happened to bring in fleas, sprinkle borax powder on the carpet and leave it for 20 minutes...then vacuum. Also, sprinkle borax in-between the couch cushions and between your mattress and box-springs. Borax breaks down the fleas' outer shell and kills them. It also kills their eggs and larvae. If you want to see if the Borax treatments are working, put a bowl of soapy water under a night light at night. Fleas are attracted to it and drown because they cannot get out of the soapy water. When we brought home fleas from a relative's house, once, we did this. At the beginning of the week, we had a bowl full of fleas. (YUCK!) After 3 or 4 days, there were no more fleas in the bowl. This was after trying flea bombs and sprays 3 times! The bugs kept coming back stronger! Borax was the only thing that worked!

To get pet smells out of carpet use 1 cup water, 1 cup vinegar, and 3/4 Tb baking soda. After the reaction (in the sink in case there is over spill) take a color fast cloth and scrub it into the carpet.

One easy tip for cleaning is buy some of the disinfecting wipes. Use them on counters, in showers, toilets (obv outside of bowl lol), etc!

Buy a fruit bowl. Fill it with fruit and out it somewhere you'll always see it... that way the temptation of cookies in the cupboard will be thwarted by that delicious looking apple or peach!

Use a crock pot for dinners, sooo fraking easy! Pop meat, veg and sauce in and turn it on. Dinner is served and you hardly had to lift a finger! Our fav is pork and apricot stew...

1 pack pork stew meat
10 dried apricots or 1 tin apricots, drained
4 medium sized potatoes, washed and cubed (about 1 inch cubes)
10-15 baby carrots, cut small
1/2 an onion, diced
1 small tin mushrooms, drained (optional)
1 tsp cinnamon
salt and pepper
1 tin chicken stock
3/4 cup water

put all ingredients in crock pot except for meat. Stir well, add meat and stir again. Cook 8 hrs on low.

Before serving, stir well and break up the pork a bit. Serve with fresh whole wheat rolls.

SOOOO EASY and simple! I make dinner while making breakfast!

Buy pre packaged veg platters if you don't have time to prepare veg for snacking. Put in top shelf in fridge. Enjoy with ranch dip!

Walk every chance you get. MY son and I go for a walk every morning before going to the grocery store. He gets the stimulation before naptime to tire him out and I get exercise!

Aloe Vera!!! I mean the real plant. I am almost 40 and people have asked me what my secret is.....especially when they find out I have 3 children under 6.. and average about 6 hours of broken sleep a night. I don't use fancy no-wrinkle creams or expensive lotions. I use what my grandmother did. Aloe vera on my face if it is dry. on a cut. on a burn. whatever. If you don' t have a real plant, you can get 100% aloe gel at your pharmacy.
Also, good old fashioned vaseline rubbed on your feet at night, and then some wool socks while you sleep. You'll have the softest feet Ever in the morning. (although sorry, it does look rather odd having a big tub of vaseline by the bedside. LOL)
Gum in your hair? on the couch? Peanut butter will get it right out. If allergies, often just plain butter can work just as well.
Dry skin in winter? So much great stuff right in your kitchen! brown sugar and honey mixed into a paste make a great exfoliate. Mashed pineapple is a good astringent scrub too. If you have acne prone skin, mix sea salt, some grapefruit juice and a bit (a bit!) of vodka into a paste. (if you don't have any vodka, witch hazel or eucalyptus is good too.) You can leave it on as a mask.....or if your skin tends to be sensitive just use as a scrub and rinse. And instead of toothpaste, I use the eucalyptus on a dot. It's a natural antiseptic. Great on any cuts too.
That's all I can think of. Can't wait to read other people's tips.
