Why would you want to make him feel like he's the best in everything he does? He's not. Not even close.

I know that seems kind of harsh, but hear me out.

If someone is actually the best, what do they have to look forward to? They'll never get any better, so why try? If you always get a perfect score, what's the point in doing it?

You're better off teaching your child to be confident in the abilities that they DO have, but that there is always room for improvement.

There's no such thing as perfection, so why pretend that you've attained it? That just leads to arrogant, self centred people in my experience.

Why not teach your child to do things to the best of their ability. Try their hardest, put their all into everything that they do. Encourage them to be the best that THEY can be. And in certain things, compared to others, that may be pretty bad :P

But that's the thing. Teach your child not to compare themselves to others. Teach them to look to others for their inspiration, to see how far they could go if they tried, but really, you only need to compare yourself to yourself. Strive to better yourself, not to be like someone else.

All you can do is just keep encouraging him and praising him for stuff well done. Give him opportunities to do things he is good at.
