I had the security tags and my kids feet were inked right away (in the US). I think it actually has to do with individual hospital policies and security procedures. I'm glad they inked my kids.

I don't remember my daughter's feet being inked (in the US). She had two tags on her ankles one was a regular hospital tag, the other was a security tag that locked any doors leading out of the maternity ward if you got with in 6 ft of the door.

No clue to this. In England nothing is done to the baby just tagged with the mums details. I wish they would ink there feet for both security reasons and a nice keep sake.

All we get up here is an anklet on baby's leg with the moms info on it only, and then on their bed they put a sort of post it note saying moms info then the day weight and height of baby. They dont even put babys first or last name on them.
