For the first time we want to go to Tx for christmas . And my big question is, do we do christmas here before we go? Or do we bring our gifts we got our son down there? ( We are in just an impala) or buy our gifts down there? I'm concerned cause Joseph wakes up every christmas with tons of gifts under the tree and I still want him to experience it where ever we go or do..... I just don't know the " proper" way.... Help plz :)

We did Christmas in MI one year (we live in SC) and what I did was ordered Christmas online and had it delivered to our house up there. We had our neighbors collect the packages and I just wrapped it all up once we got there. There were a few gifts that I had purchased that I mailed up there, and a few small ones I just packed and took with us, but if we were to ever do it again, I would make sure everything was shipped up ahead of time--several things were crushed in our luggage.

If you are staying in a hotel, you could have the gifts shipped to a friend or relative that you can visit during your stay. Just set aside a few minutes to wrap every thing up--send Joseph out with dad while you stay "home" and wrap.

We had a tree in our MI house, but if you are in a hotel, you can pick up a small evergreen plant with glitter on it at Lowes for about $20, and put the gifts underneath it for Christmas morning.
