How do I get my 1 year old to self settle to sleep?

[deleted account] ( 1 mom has responded )

My little girl is just over a year old and when she was about 6 months old she went from a self settler to all of a sudden needed to be cuddled 2 sleep. Now she is 1 this is getting beyond a joke and I have no life because I have 2 cuddle her 2 sleep all the time. I have tried the "Save our sleep" technique which ended in a little girl petrified of her cot, which I then had 2 change into a junior bed just so she would even sleep in it. She is also getting harder 2 resettle at night now because she expects 2 be cuddled to sleep.

Any help would b greatly appreciated x

My daughter is a little over a year also and she had been hard to get settled. I let her cry it out. She cries for about 5 minutes and I go in, lay her back down, tell her it is bedtime and walk back out. If she is not asleep in the next 7 minutes I do it again and then again in about 10 minutes. She usually takes less time than this to go to sleep now and she goes to sleep on her own without me having to go into her room to lay her back down.
