How do I get my daughter to hold her own bottle and what is the normal age for them to hold it ?

our 8 mos old starting holding her bottle at 6 months. i don't know if that's normal or not b/c i nursed our 2 yr old until she was 9 mos.

yeah i do belive you cannot rush the holding there own bottle.I hated it when my daughter wnted to do it herself.I was like no your not allowed to do this lol.Please stay a baby and let mummy feed you!

Her not holding her bottle is natures way of telling you to sit a while and let things rest.

You can never really make them hold their bottle....but you can show them and see if they can do it. My 2 girls held their bottles by themselves at about 7-9 months.

You daughter is still to young really. Usually they start to try around 6 months and have mastered it between 7-9 months. I'm not sure why you are in a rush for your baby to hold her own bottle. You know this time flys by so fast and if you blink you will miss it. You can't get back the first year and its so important that you and your daughter have as much one on one time together as possible. That means taking part in feedings and not separating yourself from them. Everything else can wait... laundry, sleep, cleaning, entertaining or whatever it is that is taking you away from her.
