How do I naturally help my young infant's cough?

My 6 year old came home from halfway through the second week of school with a nasty cold from her friend Daniel. Now my 4 month old has it!

Went to urgent care with a fever but NO other symptoms last week. But now the symptoms are showing up.

What on earth can I do naturally to help my 4 month old's cough. She is up to date on all of her vaccines but unfortunately my health has stopped my breastmilk production and she has been on organic formula since 3 months (about 5 weeks). So once I stopped, she no longer got the antibodies.

I am trying to do everything I can to naturally protect her since she is no longer breastfeeding.

I have no idea what to do to help her since she is WAY too young for your typical cough syrup. We don't like to use Vicks because the smell makes me nauseous (weird right?) and I can only do the snot sucker so much until she hates me for all eternity.

Hope someone can help!

Get a hot steam vaporizer(not the cold mist one) to put by her crib. The steam will loosen up the mucus. You might not be able to stop the cough, but the more productive they are, the quicker she'll get over it. Coughs typically aren't bad unless they are keeping them from sleeping. She needs to cough that stuff up.

Best of luck! Hope she feels better soon.

Put Vicks Vapor Rub on his feet before bed, put socks ontop and the coughing should go away in a couple of nights!
