how do u keep the older kids away from the baby?

I have a 3yr. and due in dec. I have a feelin that im goin to have the same thing happen when he is born.

Does baby have her own room? You could try a baby gate and a monitor. Baby gates are pretty cheap at Walmart.

I don't think you really can. Teach them how to act appropriately around the baby. If you are worried about germs you can teach them things like, "We touch him gently on his arm but we can't touch his hands unless we just washed our own" and "It's very important that we don't touch his face or the top of his head." You can also keep the older children engaged in activities that will hopefully distract them. The older children are going to be curious and will naturally want to be around the baby. They will also feel the need to help you with the baby which I think is important since jealousy is often a factor. Good luck.
