We started both my girls on the sippy at 8-9 months but didn't wean them off the bottle until 12 months. By that time they were totally comfortable with the sippy and we didn't have any problems getting rid of the bottles.

We did have a "bottle fairy" day - the girls watched me gather all the bottles and then they helped the "bottle fairy" donate the bottles to the Salvation Army for the "little babies that needed them". Worked like a charm.

I kept my lil girl on her bottle til she was bout 10 months old then u easily start giving her a sippy cup at nap time or something and she will get use to that but i do givemy daughter a bottle doing bed.. but i would only put out a couple of bottles that way she aint looking at them and stuff start introducing her to the sippy cup if shes a fast learner she will be off the bottle in know time.. Hang in there

she is still so little, let her have the sippy cup to get used to it play with it, but don't wean off the bottle yet let her replace the bottle with the cup when she is ready,

the doctor has always told me (i have 4 kids) that the sippy cup can be introduced at 6 months. I don't think I've ever started that early though, but all of my kids (except my youngest, she's only 3 months) have been off the bottle by a year. @ Savannah, I tried the soft spout cups with my two oldest and found the same problem with them - getting soaking wet. Or they would choke because it came out too fast. With my 3rd, I just went straight for the hard spout cups and he was off the bottle in 1 day. Not saying every kid will go that fast, but it definitely was easier!

My daughter was weaned about a year. She would drink water and juice from a sippy but not her formula so when I changed her over to whole milk, it went straight to the sippy cup.

I started when my daughter was seven months old I gave her a soft tip sippy cup with her juice in it and I continued her on her bottle when she drank her milk, by the time she was eight months old she no longer wanted her bottle any more she only wanted her sippy now my daughter is fourteen months old and she is on a hard top cup and drinking out of a straw.

We started giving water and juice in a tippy at 8m then at 12m we took all the bottles away. or boys did well with this. Make sure your kid likes the tippy you get. some have softer nipples, these were easier for the kids at first.
