I love spending time with my kids. I'm never bored when they're around b/c they keep me on my toes constantly. But when they're in school I get lonely and bored. I miss them so much and can't wait for them to get home. After I clean the house, plan dinner, take care of everything, lately I've been getting bored and lonely. I have a routine I follow every day and its beginning to drive me crazy. I need some excitement or a challenge in my life but I can't think of anything. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do during the day when I'm alone and bored? Something to keep my mind occupied and me busy?

I have to agree with Jodi on this one if you are bored when your children are in school try getting a part time job. Even if it is just a couple hour a day or week it would give you something to do and give you extra money. It is great that your ex is supporting you and I commend him for that but lets be honest here, he did not get you pregnant by himself and the children are the responsibility of bth of you not just him. I am a stay at home mom and my husband has a good job that offers insurance and allows me to do so but if not I would get a job when my children enter school. When that time comes I may get a part time job any way.

I just read your other post about the child support - personally, I think you have an obligation to also be working if your children are at school. It isn't only your ex's responsibility to financially provide for the children. I could understand it if they were not school age, because childcare can get very expensive, but they are at school, you are bored, and your ex is financially supporting you all. That doesn't sound particularly fair to me.

Could you get a part time job? I imagine as a single parent, this would also help financially.
