I am babysitting a 5 month year old baby boy. Can not get him to lay dwn for naps throughout the day, he will close his eyes for a couple of seconds, then wake up. His mom brought over his playpen, but that does not help all that much. What do I do to get him to take little naps throughout the day?

I can not get his 2 year old brother to take naps at all. What do I do?

My experience is routine. lay the down at the same time, same routine (read, sing, music, etc.). They will realize that it is at least quiet time. I have a 9 mo ols and care for an 18 mo old. He NEVER had consistant naps till he came to my house (14 mo.) On day 1 I started quiet time. He now naps same time every day no matter where he is. Babies/toddlers thrive on consistency!!!!!!
Good luck

Well the baby is at the age to learn to fall asleep on his own. By age 5 months the baby should be sleeping with you 2 times. I would get a sound machine to drown out any noise. I got mine from target and my infant loves the waves. It was like 30 dollars. Try keeping the baby bup for 2 to three hours that way when he goes to sleep you know he is sleepy. Right when he is drifting off to sleep I would lay him in his pack in play amke sure he is all safe oh yeah you might want to get a swaddler. put the nois machine on and leave the room. If he cries it's ok. Check on him. He might just be use to someone putting him to sleep and thats why he keeps waking up! Once you have the baby under a schedual I would work on the toddler
