Amy-what a beautiful baby picture!!!! I had never heard of them having thrush on the outside on their skin--good info to pass on to moms of infants.

all these women are right about the white not rubbing away, also if you are breastfeeding if your nipples arent cracking and/or bleeding yet you might feel a pain up the side of your breast when you are done with a nursing session.. you have to get an oral med and a topical one for it.. and request BOTH!!

If ur babys tongue is coated white and it will not wipe off (with a burp cloth or something)if it wipes away its not thrush. if u think i may be, just call the doc and they will check it out and write a script and baby will be fine. hope this helps, good luck mama:)

thrush is like cottage cheese in your babies mouth it can be light or real thick my son got it alot his mouth was painted 3 times before it finally went away if you try and rub it if it can be painful and for some reason my sons bled talk to your doctor they should be able to help you and if you do need to have your babies mouth painted be sure to bring an extra t-shirt for yourself and extra clothes for your baby purple violet stains and is hard to get out of clothes but i would ask for a infant gown for your baby to wear

I had to paint my sons mouth because he has it for like a month but it didnt stain my cloths or his it came right out when i washed them. It only stained his mouth for like maybe a day if that. but that stuff works GREAT!!!!!!

Here's a good website: http://www.babycenter.com/0_thrush-in-ba...

My daughter had it and when we were given the medicine, instead of trying to squirt it all over the inside of her mouth, we used those baby cotton swabs (they're larger.) So then I would just soak it in the medicine and brush it over her mouth and it cleared up really fast. My pediatrician gave me that advice.

when my son had it it looked like the inside of his lips and mouth was peeling almost. and becareful because you can get it too...... and yours will be red and itch and if you used breastpads i would not use the reuseable ones I did and thats how i got it i use the throw away ones now.... And soooooo far (knock on wood) we have both been good. Ohhh and also make sure you are dry before you put yourself away that will help as well and sometimes your baby will not want to eat but sometimes that is all they want to do because it soothes them.. My son ate all the time

looks like milk stuck on their tounge and inside cheeks, everywhere in the mouth. if its thrush, you wont be able to wipe it off with a rag. it is painfull for them and sometimes they wont wanna eat. my son had this and i was breast feeding and i got it on my nipples. they didnt crack and bleed...just verry sore!!!! i looked up how to treat it with out going to the doc because i knew what it was. there is this stuff called Gentian Violet, its at most pharmacys, but call first. its only like 10 bucks. its a purple liquid that stains the inside of their mouth. you dip a qtip in it then let the baby suck on it for a sec. the dye will cover the whole inside. you put this on your nipples as well. i used to give it to my son right before his feedings so that my nipples would get real coated.

anyway...look it up...hope this helps!

How do you know if your baby has thrush? looks like milk or cottage cheese chunks on the tongue, on the inside of cheeks, or on the sides of the tongue. There can be a lot or little.  If the baby doesn't want to drink, eat or suckle without fussing.  It's very painful for them.  See your DR. if you suspect it.

Looks like milk stuck to the inside of their mouth, tongue coated white. If you are breastfeeding, you will soon know it, because your nipples will be so sore, cracked and bleeding! If bottle feeding I'm not sure, except I think it makes the baby not want to eat. Real easy to treat once you get it checked out by the doc-good luck!
