I really enjoy the Jillian Michaels "30 Day Shred". My daughter is 6 months old and this has really helped me get toned back up. Also, it is only a 20 minute dvd so it is easy to fit into a busy schedule.

I walk a lot. I was 98lbs before getting pregnant and my daughter is now 9 months old and I am down to 108lbs. I walk to the grocery store which is 1/2 mile away, I walk with the baby in her stroller to her doctor appointments which is 1 mile away. I walk to the grocery store by myself about every other day. Have been since she was about 2 months old. I tried going to the gym but it just wasn't realistic for me being home all the time with no help. But I walk a lot and drink a lot of water. I don't really watch what I eat though even though I should. I wish you lots of luck. Just try walking every day if you can! It worked for me. I lost 40lbs in 9 months!

I feel your pain. I breastfed my son for the first 10 months and I looked good and as soon as I stopped I started to gain the weight. Than add stress and depression to the equation and now 20lbs overweight. What I'm doing now is exercising 6 times a day for 30-60 mins a day. I'm drinking water instead of juice I changed my diet to eating less than 1300 calories a day and sleeping 6-8 hours a day (or at least trying too). If you go to WebMD you can go to their dieting section and they give you recipe ideas and if you put your weight in and how much you trying to lose they help you do it the healthy way. In all I feel great I see/feel the weight coming off and I've been doing this for 3 weeks straight now. Good luck I hope it works for you.

my son is 10 months and i lost 15 pounds right away just from breastfeeding. we also cut out as many preservatives as possible. we use ground turkey instead of hamburger and eat alot of chicken for our protein. I always make sure we have fruit and vegetables around to snack on or make smoothies. I also try to buy lots of canned diced tomatoes, tomatoe sauce and paste along with other staple ingredients around that you can add to almost any meat to make a simple meal that is healthier than the alternative frozen or boxed meals. I only gained 20 pounds during my pregnancy but i too gained ten back after i lost my original 15. I also gained a good 20 after i got married before the baby came so i had a total of 30 or more to lose. I did what i could with diet but got a quick Jillian Michaels work out dvd (from biggest loser) for $10 and did that daily during naptime. it was perfect for a 1/2 hour workout and quick shower. Baby was up after i got dressed. I lost 10 pounds pretty quickly than got pregnant again lol. soo needless to say i gotta wait another 6 months before i can start this all over again.

i've heard that if u bf the weight comes off, because ur body stores up extra fat for u to make milk and when it isn't used it stays with u, but if u bf u can eat more and still lose, i have four kids and i bfed all of them but with my oldest son and youngest daughter i didn't bf for more that two weeks and i keep a lot of my weight, and with my oldest daughter i bfed for months and the weight just seemed to wash off

I really don't know how to help...I never gained a pound when I was pregnant and the day I had him I dropped 20 pounds and lost another 20 two weeks later. Sometimes it can take a while. My brother's girlfriend was very thin before she was pregnant and it took her 2 years to get it off.

I have a 2.5 year old and a 1 year old. I hadn't lost the weight from my first child when I got pregnant with #2. I gained about 70 pounds between both of them. I am finally only 15 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I joined a stroller group that I found on meetup.com. I throw the kids in the stroller and walk with a group of moms (and their kids). We also have Wii fit which I use when the kids are napping or asleep. I lose weight best when I have fun with it. I've never really liked the gym. We cut out the fast food and junk food. When I start craving food I really shouldn't eat I go to hungrygirl.com and get a low fat swap. It usually hits the spot without busting the diet. Those are my diet "secrets". I hope it helps. It's a lot harder to lose the weight than it is to put it on. Good luck!

I couldn't get anyone to look after my 2 kids during the day, so I started a 'Learn to Run' class (forced my husband to watch them for an hour a week - missed most of the classes though!) but I got the gist of it and started running at night and/or in the early morning. It's great getting out by myself! I've lost 20 lbs so far and now that I'm back to work, I'm losing more (2 physical jobs) I try to only drink water (after my coffee, of course! lol) and I've cut back on the sweets. With my first, it took me a year to do anything about my weight. This time, I couldn't take it after 6 months.

I had my little girl and lost all of my weight by 2 or 3 months. I know it was all due to breastfeeding and walking with her in the stroller in the mornings. If you didn't breastfeed, then you really need to with the next child and it will still take off the weight from the first one. I've got freinds who didn't breastfeed the 1st time or the 2nd but with the 3rd child they lost it all. My sister-in-law swears by Weight Watchers, she's lost all the weight from two kids and is now in perfect health, she lost about 70 pounds.

hi nataleigh i am a mum of two girls, 4 and 2 yrs, i lost all my baby weight that i had gained with both girls, (4 st in total) plus an extra stone in just under a year by going to slimming world. i know how hard it is having a little one's and trying to lose weight.... i joined the group when my youngest was 2 mths.
my advice to u is that if u want to lose the weight don't let anything stop you ... its easy to let the excuse's win .. i know i used all of them when i gained the weight with my first baby .... u know the ones i mean " i cant lose weight because .... i haven't got time or i can't lose weight because im big boned or i cant lose weight because i have to look after the baby/house work" ... i could go on but u'll probably fall asleep lol but wot im trying to say is that if u want to do it u can !!!!! you just have to beleive in urself.
look at me i have gone down from a size 24 to a size 12/10 ... from 15 st 12 1/2 lb to 9 st 12 im not telling u this to blow my own horn but to show u that it can be done

i hope this helps and gud luck

Nataleigh,
I've had 4 babies and I've gotten back to pre-pregnancy size after each one and toned up too. I use a meal replacement shake that isn't avaliable in stores that's all natural and whole-food - it costs about $4 a shake, but to me, it's really worth it because after my first I just couldn't shake the left-over belly, the scale said I was back to the same weight, but I hated the "leftover flabbiness" that just wouldn't tone no matter how many crunches I did.
I eat healthy, exercize regularly, and have an okay metabolism. After the shake, I had extra energy, lost the flabby look, and got back to looking like I wanted to - it's amazing!
Hope this helps!

Nursing helped me loose all the weight and still eat like crazy for a year, then I maintained by eating fresh fruit for snacks, cutting out processed foods, caffeine, sugar, junk food, and the biggest is not eating out ever.

I think all of us mothers are pretty much in the same boat. I gained around 70 pounds with my pregnancy and after I had my daughter I lost 40 of that, but I went back up 10 more pounds and ended up only losing 30. So, I still have 40 pounds of my pregnancy weight packed on me! I've exclusively breastfeed my daughter and it hasn't really helped me lose weight either. I think really though you just have to have an active life :/ I'm not very active because I stay home all day with my daughter. lol

It has been 5 years for me since my last baby was born and I am pretty much precisely the weight that I was the moment after I had him. I have not gained any weight, but I also have not lost any and believe me I have the ambition and I try. I walk, play tennis, swim, bike ride, work out at the local gyms...eat healthily...

You know everyone has different solution but you need to find something for you, what would make you happy. I am 30 lbs over weight and I start off riding bikes with my middle child and she loved it. I was the first step for me and then after that I joined Curves and did that for a month and no results but a little more enegry. So I took it to the next level, I joined a fitness bootcamp, where I work out 5 days a week and eat at least 5 times a day. Now this come with the study of how to portion your meals, what to eat, and what not to get. Everyone needs to stay away from MSG and high fructose syrup and etc. Drink plenty of water. There are some wedsite that will help. Once I remember them I will post. Good luck.

I think the only thing you really can do to lose weight consistantly is to run. I know it is boring and frustrating but everyone I know that have bounced back really well apart from the ones that are back to their prebaby weight instantly have run everyday.

I am still trying to lose weight 3kids later. I finally asked my dr. how to get that belly pooch to shrink. He said pilates is great, it starts to contract the fat back to the muscles and then will start to tone. I have been trying this for 3 weeks, plus slimfast, plus excercise. I have lost a little bit of weight (3 lbs. from pre-pregnancy weight with 3rd child),but it has givin me more energy. And that is important too. I do the wii personal trainer for 10-15 mins a day/2-3 week. That is not alot, but every minutes is worth it,. Good luck!!!

It is quite normal, as it takes up to 2 years after giving birth for your body to start working the same way as it did before you gave birth... so it usually takes longer for us moms... there are exceptions but for most of us... I know this is not much help, but I guess we just need to stay focused and not give up, sooner or later your body will react to all your healthy eating and exercising and you will see the results. So keep doing what you doing! :o) xxx

I struggled with this too with my second child until I finally found something that worked and I have kept the weight off for over a year. I can help you lose weight and inches the healthy way-not a quick fix-those aren't good for you. I used a program that is all natural and lost 30 pounds and 15 inches in 7 months by just eating the right foods and exercising the right way. I'm doing the HCG diet with my husband. You can buy the drops on ebay for about 15 dollars and they come with instructions. Basically you just eat 500 calories (of specific foods) a day and the weight comes off (obviously, haha). At the end of the first round (30 days) you maintain whatever weight you lost for thirty days and it helps your metabolism reset itself. I've had 5 friends (different people, different backgrounds) do this diet and lose a buttload of weight- it can really change your body.

She is two and I am 7lb less than what I weighed when I gave birth.. I had gone to my doctor cause it was hard for me to lose weight even with a gym membership that I use very regulary. I had to be put on a diet pill so that it would boost my metabolism and it has worked..

i have read everything here and i think my suggestion may sound stupid but it has worked for me.

suck your stomach in ALL THE TIME! not so that it will look flatter (which it will) but because it strengthens your core muscles and although it doesnt take much effort it burns a truck load of calories. also stand and sit up straight.
i know it all sounds ridiculous but it REALLY helps.

i do this on top of balanced eating and regular exercise. i dont believe in diets. you either eat healthy and exercise or you dont.

i wish you luck!!!

Ok so Ive had 3 kids. Before my last pregnancy I was at 118lbs and now 6 months after I am back to my pre-preg weight! I still eat food and that includes fast food and junk, I just realllllyyy moderate the intake amount. I also drink loads of water and when I do have normal drinks I make sure to limit the sugar amount. Im now doing a fun excercise program I think EVERYONE should try called "Zumba". The one I currently use is the 20 min basic workout then I do the 20 min Flat Abs Zumba and I am finding that its working and its sooo fun! And because its only 20 min for each workout I am able to incorporate that in my busy schedule. I usually do them when the baby is taking her nap. In the evenings, I load up all 3 kids and head to the park and while the older kids play me and my friend walk with our babies up to a mile. I wish everyone luck!

Find a Nutritionist because 'eating' your way back into shape is the only way to go, let's face it you probably have limited time to exercise outside of the already physical work you're doing? I lost all the weight purely through eating properly and alot more than I had been, and ALL the food groups are necessary those no carb or no fat diets whatever aren't good ideas - we need all the groups.

I found a good nutritionist, I'm in Perth WA, 6 months later I'd eaten my way to a 12kg weight loss, it was all my food preparation and I regained my pre-pregnancy weight, energy, health and zest for life.

Those fad drinking meals I don't believe are the way to go either, I have several friends who have done it and succeeded in the weight loss, but all have gained the weight back on then some.

Good luck

I have a three month old and have lost the weight already, I think because I breastfeed and also I wear the baby in a carrier just about all day long. I did this with my first son as well with the same results, carrying him less and less as he got better with walking.
Carrying them has a multitude of other benefits, like calming and entertaining the baby, and bonding them more strongly to you. I even wear my baby to work because he's so calm and quiet in the carrier.
Anyway, good luck! You can do it!

Weight watchers!!!
my son is almost 6, my daughter 2.5years. I tried everything. This Feb I started weight watchers and have now lost 12.5 Kgs There is something about having to stand on a scales in front of another person that makes you make sensible food choices.
I also love the support from my fellow weight watchers and have made some great friends.

I lost 30 pounds over about 9 months of time. It was slow going but it was not difficult. You can do it too. First of all, I cut out all of the calorie loaded sauces and toppings like mayo, gravy, french or ranch dressing, ketchup, BBQ sauce, etc. and began to experiment with mustards (so MANY kinds!), vinegars, fat free, more spices instead of butter, homemade jam rather than processed, natural peanut butter. I began to make better choices such as "no mayo or tartar on the sandwich, but used extra tomato and lettuce or mustards or spices to get the flavor it was missing. Buying 35 calorie per slice whole grain bread for my toast and sandwiches, eating brown rice and whole grain noodles, enjoying salads and stir fry made with fresh vegetables and lean meat were more additions. I did limit my portions. In fact, the first several weeks, calorie counted with discipline to keep my meals at 300 calories. I ate three 300 calorie meals per day and added two 100 calorie snacks. I made SURE that is all that was in the meal! It is a KEY!! For a while, I bought Progresso soups so I knew how many calories were in each bowl and they had a good variety. I could lunch on a bowl of soup, a two slice (35 calorie) bread sandwich made with a few slices of ham or turkey (50 calories worth), raw vegetables and a cup of tea with Stevia. My snack was often 8 mini rice cakes (caramel flavored), or 10 tortilla chips with salsa, one of those snack bags of 100 calorie chips or cookies, an 8 oz low calorie yogurt, 1 granola bar out of a 2 bar pack, 1/4 cup of trail mix (no chocolate in it) It took a while for my appetite to adjust to being content with that much, but the snacks helped TREMENDOUSLY! I prayed everytime before I ate, asking the Lord to help me eat obediently and in such a way as to help me shed the 30 pounds. I was unable to do much activity as I was on crutches for a knee awaiting surgery; my eating habits HAD to be the key! I had to take everything snacky and easy to fix out of my reach...I was amazed at HOW OFTEN food was on my mind or how absentmindedly I would grab something and eat it without even being hungry or needing the food! Many times I ate when all I really needed was a glass of water!!! I was thirsty, not hungry! I needed to tune in to my body and realize what it really needed. (When the car needs more water in the radiator, it doesn't do one bit of good to add oil! Our bodies are the same!)
Another BIG encouragement in what I did was knowing that I had 1 day in every 7 to eat WHATEVER and HOWEVER MUCH I wanted!!! Thursday was ALWAYS my day! I would write on a list what I was hungry for on each of the other six days and then enjoy, if possible, that item on my day off. This was always sheer bliss. It not only keeps you from binging because you crave that full feeling or want to satisfy that sweet tooth, but it also shakes up your metabolism so that you don't hit a plateau and start storing up or slowing it down rather than burning it up.
Drink a full 8 oz glass of water about the time you bnegin cooking the meal (add fiber to it if you want. It makes you "feel" fuller before you begin.) Eat slowly and chew and enjoy each bite. (I am a very fast eater! This is not a healthy habit for feeling satisfied!)
Green tea is a good metabolism booster, as well as L-Carnitine if you are not getting much protein.
Change the fats you cook with: choose olive oil or coconut oil (it does not taste like coconut-looks like shortening). Only use what you need to keep your food from sticking. Take it easy on the carbs and starches unless you are on your "off" day.
I pray that this helps you Nataleigh. Remember, it took nine months to put that "bump" there; be patient---it will come off in nine months of just being faithful and making the right choice through out the day!

For the entire weight loss process, to begin with, I would recommend Weight Watchers. It really is a wonderful program and you WILL lose weight with it. If you don't want to go to the meetings and such, you can do it online. Just log onto Weight Watchers.com and go from there. Right now they may or may not still have a free registration fee. For the baby bump, sit ups and exercises that will tone your abs are going to be your best bet. There are a few exercises that will help you along...squats (be sure to center your spine over your heels and space your feet evenly apart for balance), lunges (again, make sure you space your feet evenly and when lunging, make sure you tighten your stomach muscles when lunging forward and do them slowly, there is no need to be lightning fast with them) and step ups. Don't know if you have a Nintendo Wii or not but there is an exercise "game" if that is what you want to call it that comes with all the equipment and one of them is a step. Otherwise, you could go to ANY sporting good store and buy one, they do not cost much money and just step up and back both forward and side to side to your favorite music. Keep a steady pace at first...the longer you do them the faster you will get at them!!! All of these things will work you from the abs downward!! Hope this helps you out!!

The truth is Isagenix for sure Tammy. This stuff is the best. It even has the tendency to change your appetite for things like...coffee. My friend Karyl was a big coffee drinker and she not only lost her appetite for it but she is shedding pounds. If you interested my web site is www.jessicaleyva.isagenix.com. I love, love, love this product.
