How long did your baby take naps in the swing?

My little one is 4 months old and still takes naps in his swing. Should he be taking naps in his crib by this age? He is a cat napper and takes about 5 30-45 min naps a day, 3 in the swing, usually one in the car if we have errands to run and one on mom in the late afternoon. He goes to bed at 830 and is up between 6 and 7am, waking up 2-3 times a night to eat.

My son and daughter actually prefer to sleep in their car seats. When on a bed or couch, my son won't sleep long. He prefers his car seat or the floor. My daughter prefers her car seat over everything. She does sleep on the floor on a blanket but it's not long enough for me to actually get anything done.

Switching your son from his swing to his crib is purely up to you. I don't see a problem in the future unless the swing has a weight limit. If he appears comfortable, then by all means, let sleeping babies lie.

You shouldn't be leaving your baby to nap in the swing at all. And if your baby is napping in it 3 times a day, you are using the swing too much - you really should limit baby's time in a swing because while they are in there, they are not developing motor skills. If you are placing baby in the swing in order to sleep, then why not just switch to the crib?
