Here's a link to refered to their website constantly until my daughter was about a year! They offer recommendations and guildlines for you to use as a reference! I found it VERY helpful and this specific link will take you right to sleeping guildlines.......

Good luck!

Yes 14 hours is appropriate for an 8 month old.

During the day she should be able to stay awake for 2-3 hours before needing a nap and would generally be having 2 day naps (sometimes still having a short 45 min third nap about an hour after getting up in the morning).

Overnight she would normally be sleeping 8 hours without feeding and 10-12 hours overall.

An 8 months old should be having 14 hours of sleep per day, including her naps. My daughter is 8 months too and sleeps from 730-8pm through until 7-8am. and has a couple of naps each day.
