I don't know how many I will have. I guess it will just depend on how many God blesses us with and when hubby and I feel we are done. Right now we have 3. As for what is practical I think that just depends on your individual family. For some families practical means no kids for others it means 9 kids just depends on your lifestyle, desires, finances, etc. and each person and family is going to have a different set of priorities to these things.

Thank you ladies for your comments and responses. I guess it really does depend on each persons own situation.

One. Honestly, it's all I can handle.

First off, it did take a lot of time and $$ for us to get preggers, and while I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED being preggers, I'm just not up for all the trying again.....well, the first part of trying is fun and exciting, but then it just gets disappointing and painful.

Second, we spent so much trying to get the little guy, that there is no way we can feasibly afford tuition for two kids. Competition for scholarships is very fierce, and is only going to get more competitive in the future with more kids than ever entering college every year.

Third, I love travel and we are finally at a point where it is not such a hassle. Selfish, yes, but also I like giving him the opportunity to see the world and it is very expensive with multiple kids, and I'm not sure we could afford it if we had more than one, so really, he benefits too.

Fourth....really, he's all I can handle. He keeps me busy, and I love life with one--I don't have to worry about fighting, or dividing my time. I don't have to worry about one being better at everything than the other, or try to be in two places at once for different activities. I never have to miss his plays, games, or recitals to watch a sibling's.

I wanted 4 kids. Had one, got muscle spasms, got pregnant LOL and am going to have another one. I guess everything will just work its way out. I was an only child and hated it. It was lonely growing up and I am a true believer in how everything will just work out. So, therefore I just don't really care about practical :) as I've seen it all. We knew a morman family with 18 kids for years, still keep in touch with them every once in a while. It was rough, I remember they stayed in a 1 bedroom with their daughter for a few months inbetween places but they survived. My moms best friend was a single mom with 4 kids. Somehow we are just all okay.

'practical' is two kids. The world is getting seriously overpopulated and there's just not enough natural resources to feed etc all the people. So, that's what is practicle these days.
I want 4-5 :) I know it's not necessarily good for the earth to keep adding more babies, but I only have one life to live and all I really want out of life is a nice big family. Hubby wants 4 I used to want like 8 but now we are due with our second so I think I'll see how it goes one at a time and decide when I feel our family is complete.
I don't want to be 70 and wishing I had one more kid etc, so I just hope that I will at some point have the gut feling that this is it, my family is complete, I'm done. Until then I keep my options open.

I have one son who is 19 months old & my husband and I are talking about trying for our 2nd this summer (July or August). I know I want at least 2 kids, MAYBE 3. We will see how things go with 2 & if we are in a good situation to add a 3rd. I think it's whatever works best for your family's situation!

I have 2 girls already and have 1 on the way. I would like to have 4 (at least) but we will have to see how finances are before we consider another one after this one is born.

I don't know how many I want to have. I just know I want more than I have now, just 1 :(

Unfortunately due to finances it's not practical to have anymore children right now. We're still recovering from my husband's job loss that made us end up living in a motel. We're better now but still not stable. I've always wanted a big family and it kills me that I have to be logical about it and not get pregnant.

I feel that as long as you can care for your children and they don't go without your attention and time, it's no one's business than your's and you husband's.
