How many times does your baby wake at night due to teething?

My son is 7 1/2 months old. It seems like he has been teething between a month and several months. He is very much in pain at night, when it bothers him the most. We give him Motrin for the pain as needed. I have not done any of the homeopathic stuff because he seems to be very sensitive to different foods and I don't want to cause another reaction.

My questions: How long has your baby been teething before the first tooth comes through? How much has he been in pain? What do you do for the pain? How often does your baby wake up at night because of the pain?

My son is almsot 8 months old. He has two bottum teeth right now and 2 top ones trying to break through. It took about 2.5-3 months for his first two to come through. I give motrin as needed but mostly, my son loves water in a sippy cup, so I give him cold water in a sippy cup and he drinks that as well as chews on the nipple. He also when it is really bad likes his food cold. I also found in the last couple of weeks that he likes to chew on a wet wash clothe. I even give him one in his crib at night. For waking at night, as long as he has his pacifier/binky I can just go in, cover him back up, give him a kiss and his binky and he is fine. Good luck! And it does get getter.

my daughter is 8months 1week old. so far she has two bottom teeth and one top one.

she started getting teething pain at about 4months and didnt get her 1st tooth through untill 5 months 3weeks. i dont use teething gels and powders on her gums because she just likes the taste of it and wants more but it dosnt seem to do much for the pain. i let her chew on large slices of an apple that has been chilled in the fridge. i also give her teething toys to chew on....when it does get quite painful for her i give her a dose of baby medicine but i only do this when the teething gives her a raised tempreture or very red and hot cheeks.

at the moment my daughter wakes about twice a night but she settles down as soon as i put her blankets back over her and let her suck a dummy. but the night before her 1st tooth came through she woke up 8-10 times!...it will get better as they get used to it but its just not very nice seeing them in pain.
