I saw the "How young is too young to be a mom" thread, so I was just curious. I didn't see this topic on the boards.

I know there was a woman who gave birth at 70 in India. This is news because typically at this age your body doesn't have the ability to produce children. But now with the ever changing hormones (children heating puberty earlier, women on menopause later), I'm curious to know if mentally, physically, emotionally, whateverlly.... someone can be considered too old to have children.

lol I was thinking of him too!!!! At that Age I think it would be kind of irresponsible. I mean there's no way he's going to be around for that baby to grow up with and kids need their parents but women genereallly go through menopause by what 60? Yes people are going to ask you how old your granddaughter or grandson is but hey if you can handle it go for it! lol, generally if we're around to go through menopause we're going to be around al least long enough to see that child into adulthood and that's the important thing.

Oooppps, good point, I forgot about the fathers. So if a man can father a child at 96 (erm erm... Hugh Heifner), you wouldn't consider him too old to have children?

how old is too old? past menopause! If you are still able to bear children then go for it! The only thing I would say is think about teeching your newest child to drive. add 16 years. That woman in india will be 86! Men can father children till they die, why shouldn't it be acceptable for us to have children till we can't?
