My house is falling apart! usually i have my hubby watch Eli why I get some cleaning done but, he had been working a ton of overtime lately!! Eli wont play with his toys for more then a few mins. before hes crying for me, usually when I'm right in the middle of a job. Any tips on how to get some cleaning done other then staying up till midnight cleaning?

My son LOVED riding around in my Ergo (or any soft, comfy backpack you can find) when I did housecleaning until he was about 13 months old and I got preggie again and it wasn't comfy to carry him in it anymore. (He'd probably still be loving it now!) :)

My other solution, though, was to remind myself that my kids are only going to be little ones who desperately want me for such a few short years that I told my hubs our house just isn't going to be as clean, neat or tidy as it used to be. He's fine with that. I keep the big messes picked up and sanitary things clean, like bathrooms and kitchen, but I don't worry myself as much anymore with constant wiping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, etc. And try not to always use your baby's nap time for cleaning or other household work. I really value his naps as time for me to read a book or watch a TV show I recorded, or chat with friends online. You need YOU time, too. :) Good luck!

Kimberly, I do agree with you... I'm still learning to balance my time. I think how you do it is great! Good advice!

How is he with nap times...? He should still be taking two naps a day or transitioning into 1 long nap a day. I would use your time wisely when he is napping. Other than that, I can tell you that when I "NEEDED TO GET THINGS DONE" and in a quick manner, I would do sessions of put the baby down, run around picking up, let her cry for a few minutes. then sooth her... Or, I also put her in a baby beiorn while I changed laundry, did dishes, and picked up. Hope that helped... :)

I had that problem with my first child. What I woul do is put him in a vibrating bouncer and that would keep him occupied while I did my chores also I would recommend cleaning during his nap time or wearing a sling while you do your chores with him in it.. I hope these are helpful tip for you good luck being a mother is a touch job.

From the picture, you seem to have a very little one. When my daughter was that small, I put her in her stroller and wheeled her around the house with me while I cleaned. We got one of those toys to go across the handle of the carseat (her stroller was a convertable kind that the carseat snapped into the stroller) so she had something to entertain her. She liked being up at a height so she could see what's going on, and liked the toy, too.
