thats the thing i put him on his potty while i run the bath water and get his clothes and things laid out..he is good about sitting still on it but he just want go..i don't punish him for pooping in the tub..and alot of the times its not hard enough to scoop out and flush..also what is a good age to start using pull ups

my son also did that. What I would do is put him on the potty while running the bath, then I would wash him up quick so he could play in the tub after that for a while. If he did poop in the tub I would put in it the toilet and tell him that poop goes here and to say good bye to it. We would wave and he got to flush it down. I know it gets hard to deal with this but it will stop.

The warm water is relaxing him enough that his body is releasing it. Punishing him won't change anything because his body can't control it. I started giving my son faster baths and then when we were done we would sit on the toilet and read books. He wouldn't always go, but I made it a part of our potty training routine. Another thing you could do is change the time of day that you give him baths. Some children simply need to go at the same day every day.

Since he is only 21 months chances are he doesn't recognize the feeling in his tummy as "I have to poop" So punishing him won't work. He won't understand why he is in trouble and it might confuse him and make potty training harder. Does he really enjoy bath time? If he does then he is pooping because he is getting excited. What you could try is while you are running his bath water and getting everything ready put him on the potty. Maybe he will go before instead of during.
