Stay at Home Mom's
by Jennifer Johnson on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 1:09am
A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?' 'Yes,' was his incredulous reply. She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it."

I used to get the same from my husband. Then one day I recieved this via email, and I did it-wasn't quite to this extent. However, he has NEVER questioned what I do in a day, or why I am tired!

To tell you how often my husband travels with our 2 year old in the car he still goes to the wrong side of the car to get the child out of her carseat! BTW the seat has been in the same spot for 2.6 years

I love this and I've done it too! I once asked my hubby to get #1 ready for a trip to town, he took so long I said 'I'm setting off without you, call me when you get out' We met up an hour later, baby screaming cause she was hungry so I fed her. I ask hubby for a wet wipe to clean her face and my chest and he blushes...... no change bag, nothing, nada. He said 'do we need it?' Dumb as a bag of spanners sometimes ;)

You know I don't think my husband will ever really get all I do all day unless I was gone for a few weeks! You should see him try to dress her and take her out for a walk! I have to help him find the clothes, remember the juice box, snack in case she is hungry. Diapers and wipes too!...
I tease him a little sometimes but he still does not get the big picture but at least he appreciates his dinner!

That was a pick me up, I laughed! Unfortunatly I have a spouse who does not get it even if I go on strike, he still don't get it. Unlucky me I guess. Those of you who have a spouse who does get it and they help you, AWESOME, and it makes me jealous!! Thanks for sharing this it was great!!

I love this! My husband has never asked me this (thank goodness for him!) as he has been home sick and has seen what my day is like. I have a 2 1/2 year old girl, am 6 months pregnant with twins, doing my degree on-line. I don't think he would ever have the nerve to ask what I do all day (lol).

Awesome!!! You go girl! My husband finally discovered what I did all day with our two toddlers when I had to go back to work after he got laid off. All I could do was laugh when he would call me at work frantic that this or that happened and what should he do. Hahaha serves them right. =)

thumbs up!!!!

but thankfully my husband never ever asks me this Question..................
but praises when the work is done and ignores it when the house is a mess saying we can do it later! & thats what motivates me to do my chores

lucky me!!

I know right Tara. My old man dose it all the time asking me what do i do all day. I am a stay at home mom and i have a 3 year old son an di also go to college on line. I do what i have to do and then i clean. They when he comes home and i am sleeping he asked me how long have you been sleeping for and i tell him and then he is like why are you sleeping you did not do much by be on the computer and feed the baby. I told him ok we will see. On his day off i had him do everything i do. I had him take care of the baby who is being potty trained and a puppy that is also being potty trained cleaning and cooking and doing school work and taking the baby and puppy out side to play and then giving a bath and doing more school work and more cleaning. I dont go to bed until 1 ot 2 in the am. So now that i had him do what i do all day every day he know now that on his days off that i have them to my self and i dont do anything but my school work lol but i know what you are talking about.

Haha... I've done that before, just quit for the day. Granted I have health issues that get in the way of having a spotless house, so somedays I HAVE to ignore the cleaning. (Not to that extent though)

My ex was so lazy that I told him I would no longer pick up after him or do his laundry. I stuck at it for 3 MONTHS before he got the point. (Just one of many reasons I left him!)

That is just too funny. It might not be effective for some guys though :)
