I gained 70 pounds with my 1st child and another 50 with my second. Almost a year later I had a stroke. My doctors insisted on me losing weight quickly. I don't like to exercise so I tried through diets. I tried a lot of them but what worked for me was a colon cleanse product. Recleanse puts you on such a strict diet that I lost 6 pounds in one week. I continued on the diet for as long as I could after the 7 day cleanse. I couldn't eat salt, sugar, or preservatives. Mostly water, water, veggies, fruit, nuts, whole grains, more water. It's hard but when your life depends on it ... You should be able to find this product at any health food store or any store where vitamins and supplements are sold. Remember though, you have to eat, if not your body will begin to go into survival mode and hold on to fat storages for dear life. Only drinking fluids only works for 2 to 3 days. Go back to recleanse every 6 months or so to kick start you again or maintain your weight. Eventually you will be used to eating better and won't need it. I went from 180lbs to 130lbs. I am a much better eater than I used to be and still eat a bit of everything. Good luck! Hope this helps.

well i see that you are pregant again, since you are i would just eat the protions that you need and no more, you can still lose some weight if you are over weight and it would be no harm to the child but you need to eat well, i would say eat every two hours stick to natural food fruit and vegetables for snack and eat protioned meals that all i did with my preganncies and there all very healthy, and i was a perfect weight for my pregnancy. well good luck and i hope it all turn out for the best for you.

Christa, you can lose weight while you are pregnant and given your doctor is not very helpful you should seek out another professional's help. Perhaps a dietician or a more helpful doctor who can perhaps devise an eating plan for you.

The last thing your current baby, your unborn baby and you need is for you to be unhealthy so you really have to put the effort in.

Don't think "well, I'm pregnant so there's no point and I can eat whatever I want". You need to stay healthy. Yes, you need a slightly higher calorie intake during pregnancy, but not a lot more and I'm guessing probably a lot less than you are consuming now given you need to lose 100lbs.

Perhaps even try Weight Watchers. I believe they have specialised programs for pregnant women.

You need to eat small, regular, healthy meals. Lots of protein, fruits & vegetables. Make no excuses. You need to do this and you need to stay positive and focused. You need the full support of your husband. Don't put anything in your mouth that you wouldn't put in your 11 months old mouth. I'm sure you don't give him/her processed, salty, fatty, food. Apply the same rules to yourself.

I wish you the best of luck. :)

Hi Christa, I started to read the posts after I replied to your thread. Congradulations on the new little one on the way!

I still think you will benefit from the Gazzle, as any ob/gyn will tell you that exercise is important. I used it will the pregnancy of my daughter and only gained 29 pounds. Take care!

Hi Christa,  I would recommend cutting your salt intake (read labels as much as possible). Eat lean cuts of meat...turkey, fish and pork. Cut back on sugar and lemons or lemon juice act as a diaretic. Maybe you can try a product or two that I use...the Gazzle (the sell it at Wal*Mart I believe), it is like skiing in mid air and very low impact to the joints. Then there is www.benderball.com, I just looked at the website and it look like it's down to $9.99vhs. The only thing is becareful that you do not get signed up to receive more vhs/dvds' unless you want them. I use these with success so far and it is hard for me to exercise with fibromyalgia (a chronic pain condition which affects the muscles) and arthritis. With the benderball, you don't have to do as many repititions to feel an effect at least I have found this to happen. Basically, 5 minutes can do a lot. I hope that these can help you. Keep us posted and let us know how you're doing and what is working for you. Take care!

I know a lot of people that have lost a lot of wieght by doing that no carb diet.  But, you need to check with your Dr first-it can be hard on your Kidneys-I can not stress that enough-check with your Dr first!  You also need to have the will power to do this-there is NO carbs allowed on this diet.  It is a very strict diet, but you do loose weight fast.  Good luck.

I have done this. You are allowed to have carbs. Only WAY less than regular, I think the first phase it's 20g of carbs per day. That will make you lose weight extremely fast, I lost 17lbs in the first 3 weeks, and the book says once you get to an acceptable weight, start re-introducing carbs into your diet, 20g/week. If you find you are gaining wieght again, cut the carbs back. Apparently, your body burns carbs first, then burns fat. So, if there are no carbs for your body to burn, it burns fat instead. And in your regular day-to-day stuff, you'll burn off so many grams of carbs, right? So if you are consuming more than you burn off, you're back at square one.

I really enjoyed the Atkins approach. You can eat as much meat and vegetables you want. No starch, no sugar. Sucralose (splenda) is OK though. I missed milk the most, but my energy levels were amazing. Carbohydrates are the only food that you *crash* from, and I never realized it until I ate, and did not crash. Quite the wake up call.

Good luck to you, and a previous poster said try swimming, it is so true, it works out the entire body, without stress on the joints.

Hi Christa, My husband started the 6 week body makeover last year, they guarantee that you will lose 30 lbs in 6 weeks or you get your money back. After 7 weeks he had lost 40 lbs and that was with no exercise! Basically it's a matter of taking salt and sugars out of your diet, he eats 6 meals a day and drinks a whole bunch of water. My girlfriend did it after seeing my husband and she lost 80 lbs in a couple of months and we have about 10 to 15 other friends that have done it also. It is by the guy that was on the Extreme Makeover show, Michael Thurmond, the website is bodymakeover.com and you can take the test to determine your body type and figure out how and what you should be eating for your body. It is amazing! I look forwards to hearing about your progress!

7 lbs. in three weeks is great for the average dieter, but if it needs to come off quicker than that, you need to contact your doctor and soon.  Tell him or her your concerns and ask what your options are.  Good luck to you.

Cut all processed foods and fatty meats from your diet. Anything that comes in a box is probably a no-no unless it says organic or natural. Check the ingredients. My rule is if I see an ingredient that I don't have in my kitchen (preservatives and corn syrup) I don't buy it. You can sneak whole foods into your diet and you'll never know: zuchinni is AWESOME for you and has almost no flavor-put it in sauces and burgers. Blueberries are a super food and make great snacks. Stay away from blueberry muffins, though. General rule of thumb: if it comes prepared it's probably not good for you. Always check ingredients!
