I have a question about kidcare

I am a mother of two, a six year old and a 3 year old. My kids have kidcare and we have been paying for as long as we know over $300 and now it has gone up. This is coverage for both kids. Is there anyone who is paying that much for health coverage?

Is that $300 a week or per month? I have one child, we pay $279/month for his health insurance. My husband and I are on separate policies. For us, we pay just over $950/month. So all together, we pay just over $1200/month.

My husband and I are both "self employed" so our employers do not pay a portion of our insurance premiums. My husband's company is a firm, though, so it able to get into one of the small business pools created recently and that helped us out tremendously. Before, because I have pre-existing conditions, I could not get health insurance, no private insurer would insure me, so we had to pay for everything out of pocket. But now, this is group insurance, so they can't turn me away :)
