Her 4 month baby girl is spitting up 'water' looking stuff a couple hours after she has her bottle. Why?

I agree that it is reflux..my 6 month old just finally outgrew hers...at 4 months though I didn't want to get the tests to actually diagnose it, and just kept her upright and burped her well until she grew out of it...because the test for reflux is apparently very unpleasant.

If the problem is reflux tell her to go on napnanny.com . They have this great firm, foam Nap Nanny ( looks like a car seat) . This is the best for babies with reflux, a head cold, earache or just for those babies that sleep best sitting up. As crib wedges are not recommended for safety reasons. But I would definitely mention it to the pediatrician

since the baby is only 4 months i presume she is only feeding him/her milk...so ask your friend to burp her infant soon after feeding. she can do this buy putting the baby on the shoulder and gently rubbing/patting the baby's back in a down ward motion.

it is reflux from eating and she needs to make sure that she keeps her baby sitting in a upwards position for at least thirty minutes after she eats. my son had the same problem and we eventually had to buy a wedge to put under his crib matress and he had to go on prevacid for infants. i would also suggest she sees a doctor, it could be she is having trouble digesting the formula she is on.

hope this helps!
