im 6 and 1/2 months pregnant and last night my husband and i made love, well when we were done we noticed that the bed was really wet and so was our legs, could my water have broke and me not feel it, because we never had this happen before with our bed and us being so wet from us finishing before. im not hurting or having contrations or anything right now but im worried about if my water did break it could hurt the baby. but i dont want to go to the hospital and they tell me it was just from us being really hot. i need your advice what would you do or do you think?

Intercourse doesn't cause the water to break. It can trigger contractions and get labor started if you're close enough to your due date. But generally, sex is safe during pregnancy.

If it was amniotic fluid, it would still be leaking. Its constant. It gushes and there is noo mistaking!

I remember doing laundry one day while pregnant and randomly wetting myself. It scared me. First thing I did was go sniff it. It had no scent. I called up my midwife and she had me come in. She checked, and there were no signs of anything being wrong.

Just for peace of mind, you should call your doctor and describe what happened.

I'd rather go to the hospital and be sent home relieved that it was nothing, than not go and have any trouble. A quick examination would tell them what's what.

If it was your amniotic fluid, it will continue to leak and unlike urine, you cannot stop the leaking. Otherwise call your doctor and have them check.

Can you ring your doctor/midwife rather than go into the hospital? They may want you to go in anyway just to check it out though.

If it was me I'd ring first and see what they say.
