I haven't tried this method yet, but I intend to give it a try next month. Apparently it works best for young children and loses effectiveness the closer to 3 a child is.

Doctors don't know anything about raising kids. They are not behaviour specialists. That's not their specialty - in fact, they don't learn that at medical school. After all, THEY also told you no rewards charts and any behavioural psychologist would tell you that's total bullshit. All doctors know is that STATISTICALLY, the average girl will potty train at 2 1/2. AVERAGE. There is a very broad range.
I'm sorry you feel like you aren't receiving any real advice here. You are, however receiving real advice from real mothers who have really potty trained their children and are sharing their real experiences. You have received advice, it's just not what you want to hear. But the fact is, if your child is one of those not physically ready, anything you do will not work. You can have all the goals you want, if your child either does not share that goal or is not ready, you will not succeed and you are setting her up for failure.

She may not be ready. Children are all at different developmental stages when it comes to toileting, and two is actually considered quite young. The average age for a girl to be potty trained is about 2 1/2 (it is a little older for boys), but that's average - not all are physically ready at that age. Maybe give it a break for a bit then try again? I found this worked with my daughter. Also, have you tried a rewards chart for her training?
