I need him to sleep in his own bed...

I have a son who will be 2 next week, and no matter what I have tried, I cannot get him to sleep in his own bed. He ALWAYS comes into my bed in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep in his own bed. Its fine now, because my husband works graveyards, but when he switches back to day shift my son won't be able to sleep next to me because the bed is just too small. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You really have to be firm and VERY consistant. We had this problem all of the sudden, everything was fine, slept in his own bed (unless he was sick) then one night he wouldnt sleep in his bed, and figured out how to get out! I let him sleep with my for a couple of nights but My husband and like our bed and there isnt room for 3. It took about a week of crying until 3am. One night he fell asleep standing up in the corner of his crib(atleast I got a smile ffrom it) We also turned his crib into a toddler bed that made a difference too,

I know it is going to be tough but you have to be firm about it. We have only had one relapse, I almost gave in but then realized all the work that we had done would be undone in one night if I gave in. Good Luck and send me a message if you want.
