When they begin to stutter instruct him/her to slow down and say it with mommy. For reinforcement, remind them to slow down and take a deep breath and try the word(s) again. You can also practice using a list of words you know he/she struggles the most with by using flash cards, showing them and having them read one at a time with you. Read to them often so they realize the correct pronunciation of words and as a way to build confidence.
