I have nursed 3 of my 5 kids. I started by cutting out 1 nursing session a day for a few days, and then a 2nd session for a few days and so on, starting preferably with the one they will mind missing the least. Always leave the times that they like the most until the end of the weaning process. The baby may not want to take a bottle instead of the breast at first, but a baby will not starve itself, it will eat when it is hungry enough. You could also pump some breast milk and make a bottle that is half breast milk and half formula until the baby gets more used to it. I hope this helps. You just have to hang in there, it will work eventually. Good luck!!

thanks..and yeah i was thinking that it was too much of a double shock also so i will try pumping into a bottle and once she gets use to that then add the formula..ive tried 2 different kinds of bottles so ill try the one u said..at first i thought the taste of the formula would be a problem but she doesnt spit it out she just doesnt want the bottle and i hate for her to keep crying for hours..but your advice helped so i gotta just suck it up lol

I have heard after trying something ten times the baby will start liking it, they have to develop a taste for the formula... if you have ever tasted breast milk then you would probably prefer it over formula also... there is a bottle called 'Adiri' it is practically a boob... check it out... www.adiri.com... it is absolutely amazing... it will make it an easier transition for baby...

hi!! i breastfead all 3 of my children and due to certain situations I had to stop around 6 weeks. i found that playtex vent air advance wide bottles really helped them go from breast to bottle. i would do a breast feeding, then bottle and so on for about 2-4 days...after that i attempted just bottle with no breast at all. my first two that worked, the last one she would still have the breast but only once or twice...that only lasted about 3 more days and then she was off the breast for good. as far a formula...i pumped to get them used to the bottle, i didnt want a double shock!! after about a week or so, i put them on enfamil lipil (but your ped can decide that). hope this helps you, i know all children are different, but its worth a shot!!
