My son was not potty trained until he was 3 years and 3 months. he had a bad scare when i tried at 26 months and stayed away for almost a year because of it (i had a travel potty seat that folds and it slipped when he went to climb on it and he got stuck in the toilet, very tramatizing to a kid that age lol) i bought a potty and put a soaker pad underneath it and bought the movie "the bear in the big blue house, Potty Time" he loved it and started peeing in the potty within 2 days of watching it. then i just moved the potty to the bathroom slowly, now his potty is packed away in the storage room and he uses the big toilet with a soft potty seat (i got another soft one to take around with me, ill NEVER trust the travel potty seat again) He is now 3 years and 8 months and rarely has accidents

I did not "potty train" any of my kids, and they are all happy, well adjusted, and none of them need diapers as teenagers. Putting a lot of preasure on your son because you need him to be potty trained might be hurting you more than it is helping you. If he is wearing pull ups that is probably not helping you either, make sure he is in underwear. Let him run around the house in underwear for a few days so he can go easliy and quickly. When he gives you such little notice of an urge it is silly to let him fail because he has to take clothes off. Ask him a lot if he has to go, but setting him on the toilet ramdomly does not train his brain to recognize the urge and relate that to run to the toilet. If someone put you on the toilet every 30 minutes would you go? And, if someone let you dit around in your own mess would that make you feel like you learned a lesson or just gross and humiliated? When he does go reward him with a ton of excitement and praise. Mostly, RELAX!!! I promise even if he is not 100% potty trained by the time school starts he will not be the only kids that might have an accident now and then.

You can put fruit loops in the toliet tell him you try to make them go down. I also do a reward chart. Each time he goes give him a sticker to put on the chart
make the chart a week long. After it is filled treat him to something he likes. Also I am a Discovery Toys rep (educational toys) I have a cute basket called The potty train a lot of parents love this basket b/c it helped they child. Tou can see it at http://myprideandjoygiftbaskets.yolasite... under preschool..Hope this helps

My daughter has just recently stopped peeing in the bed, She is almost 3, and let me tell you, it was veryyy hard. I bought her a little potty at first and everytime she went pee or poop she would put a sticker on it. For a while that worked & then i guess she just got bored with it so we started taking her to the big girl potty, which she loved using because she felt like such a big kid :) I had to take her to the bathroom like 3 times an hour for a couple days until she started getting it down. It just takes alot of patience!!!!!
