motrin, per manufacturer, is not given until 6mos old at least, since it can tear up their stomachs. you can give infant tylenol (make sure it says infants on it, can be generic store brand, acetaminophen - same thing) for that you give an baby 12-17lbs/4-11mos 0.8ml (one dropper), 18-23lbs/12-23 mos 1.2ml (0.8 + 0.4) - check with your ped to be sure how much, since they normally go by weight but the age is so different....

I think doctors go off of the childs weight for dosing. The dosage chart I have says for 18-23lbs (a 12-23mos old). It has for drops and suspension-it must say on the bottle you have(mine is suspension)-drops:1 1/2 droppers full=150 mg and suspension:1/2tsp. I would atleast call the doctor to make sure it is okay. You should have a little food in the babes tummy, too, because it can iritate it. Is this for a fever? My chart says to give more for a fever over102.5 F. I would still atleast call the hospital. Even if a clinic isn't open a triage nurse should be able to answer your questions if you have any.

You can start to give motrin infant drops at 6 months....I have a motrin chart and it says 6-11 months weighing 12-17lbs get 1.25ml. Tylenol never worked on my kids. I've always used motrin.

You should give her tylenol. Motrin can be rough on their tummies and isn't recommended before 6 mos.

I think they generally like for you to weight until they are 6 mo to give motrin...I think there's a chart on the bottle, but I think it's 1.25 ml. Definitely should call your pediatrician to be sure.
