Insomnia. Help!

I'm 17 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child (my daughter is 13 months now). I've always had a bit of trouble getting to sleep, but have been having a real problem with insomnia since I got pregnant again. Any suggestions on things that might help?

Try earplugs. Have a tablet next to your bed and jot down what is going on in your mind. Ask your husband to give you a foot massage with peppermint lotion.

lots of fresh air!! this is really the only thing that ever worked for me. and exercise is really healthy for a pregnant woman also...try walking a bit everyday. also i remember the biggest problem i had when i was pregnant was having to get up to pee every hour on the hour and then once i was up couldn't fall back asleep so try and limit your beverages after 6 or 7pm. i tried taking benadryl like my dr suggested and it would help me fall asleep right away but i always woke up after a few hours when it wore off and then i'd be up the rest of the night. and it made me sooooo GROGGY the next day. so i would suggest talking to your dr about non drug techniques first. maybe try a warm bath or shower before bed. and make sure your room is dark.

Chamomile tea usually helps. But if you have a serious insomnia issue, you should talk to your OB about pregnancy safe sleeping pills.
