My 8 month old has been on soy for 8 months now due to diarrhea caused by milk based formulas. We tried again at 4 months and she had loose bowel movements. Did anyone have this issue and now that she’s 8 months should I try again? Or wait until she’s a year old? I gave her yogurt today for the first time so I’m waiting to see how she reacts to that

My first was on milk based from day one of formula feeding, but second actually is lactose intolerant but at the time- i didnt want to rule milk out completely... So i started getting lactose free foemula that is still milkbased. Kirkland brand(from costco)works the best. Ita apparently the equivalent to enfamils gentlease( which i had her on for a couole months but she kept having very very loose stools or else she would be constipated) once i switched her to the kirkland brand sensitive(purple container) formula, she instantly changed her crankiness and her bowel movements within 24hours. Currently shes 6 n a half months. But we tried a few different formulas, this one worked the best for her. I recommend it highly to anyone who has a baby with a sensitive tummy to normal formulas.

Also, depending on the what your dr or pedi says, yours isnt far off from starting whole milk (mine says its okay to start as early as 9 months.) But even in my household we all drink lactose free milk. Its a little pricier, but its worth it in the end. Can always try either option?
