I try, but with 4 kids, and a hubby who doesn't help at all, it's a lost cause. I'm constantly cleaning and straightening up only for it to get messed up 30seconds later. I don't keep trying though, because I like things clean, neat, and organized.

Not sterilized clean but I like tidy and things not in my way like all the toys away before the kids go to bed, the dishes done, benches clean and no grimy handprints on the fridge or cupboard doors, laundry folded and put away and not having bits under my feet or grime on my bathroom basin or poo bits on the toilet bowl. I like it to be presentable if people unexpectedly come over not that anyone does that often.

I used to not care but lately I have been throwing more and more things out and organising things so there is less crap in our house to have to clean up.

Yep, I'm a neat freak as well. I work hard at making our home organized and nice and I expect it to stay that way :)

My babies are my priority! I feel like if I spend time cleaning too much, it's not enough time with them and I stay home with them! I always feel like 24/7 isn't enough time with them ! I cherish every moment with them and love them to death!! I REALLY don't want them to grow up! I wish they could stay babies forever, but they're 4 and 5 and I wish they were 2 and 3. I hate for the day to be over every day!

Yes!!! I think im OCD though. I seriously pick up and clean right away after a meal. I have to sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and clean the bathrooms every day! My husband tries to tell me to sit and relax and he'll help me "in a minute" but i have to get it done right away. I love to sit and relax in a clean home. But i guess i just need to learn how to sit and relax. PERIOD...

LOL!! Hi everyone! I am laughing at myself. My husband thinks that I clean too much. It drives me crazy when we go out and do something like shopping or whatever and I leave the house a "mess". Before we go anywhere I have to do dishes and make the beds and clean the bathroom, or whatever needs to get done. I am trying to not be so crazy about clean but i am. I grew up as a military kid and my dad always expected to have a clean house and now so do I. If I am tired I cannot go take a nap until the house is clean. I know I sound crazy but I have been this way since I was a kid. Good to know I am not the only one, LOL....

Haha! My Mother is like that! You can literally eat off her floors! I grew up with it; everything sparkling clean! All I ever saw my Mother do, was clean. In elementary school, when I was asked what my Mother does, I said she was a cleaning lady! How embarrassing, now that I look back at what I'd said! LOL

Sadly, or not so sadly, her compulsive cleaning habits did not rub off on me. I Hate cleaning with a capital H and I avoid it as much as possible, though it has to be done, I don't have a set schedule, what I do when. I clean randomly and my house is acceptable. It's really hard when you have kids, cats and a husband that contribute to the "dirt"! LOL

Lol... I need you guys to come help me with my house! Having 2 special needs kids just takes up all my energy. I have nothing left for cleaning & the kids come first. Sometimes I wish I were more diligent about the house, but I'm no "Super Mom."

Yep! It is not difficult for me though because I only have one child and he is in school now. I have severe ADD and visual clutter aggravates it--I cannot function if surfaces are cluttered, if things I need are not in their proper place, or if I have to move stuff or look under stuff to see what is there.

My dh has the WORST habit of tossing his jacket on the entryway bench--IT GOES ON THE HOOK!!!!!!! If it is laying on the bench, it can be covering other things up, then if someone wants to sit on the bench, they will crush whatever is there.....of course there is never anything there because J & I are sane, but still.

I also prefer things as clean as possible, but lately I started to realize that I was spending way more time cleaning and not as much time with my girls. I started to notice that they were more restless, whiney, and bored, and I was feeling guilty, so I decided to spend more time focusing on them and it has made a big difference! Not only are they happier, but I am also happier and I realize that I am not really too far behind on house work because it always seems to get messed up even after I clean anyways...

YES! My husband is always making fun of me because I clean all the time. But I let my kids make a mess so it's totally normal to me that I keep it spotless except for the thing they are playing with.
