I dont see why you would want to put salt in their food? People only like salt on their food if it is what they are used to. I dont think anything should be added to baby food. Just let the food have its natural flavour.

You shouldn't add anything extra to babies food. They have 1000's more tastes buds on their tongue than we do, so they taste every thing so much stronger than adults do.

Salt is not needed on baby food, but I've heard lots of people reccomend garlic powder instead. Cinnamon would be tasty on porridge, like the previous poster suggested.

I would stay clear of adding any salt, most people consume far too much of the stuff and in an infant it could cause negative consequences and a skewed food taste in your baby. Instead, try cinnamon, nutmeg or other mild spics that do not affect your baby's Salt/Potassium balance.
