My daughter is 7 months old (in 4 days time) and she can't crawl. She rolls around everywhere from room to room but shows no interest in crawling. She can sit up if I put her in the sitting position but she can't get into the sitting position by herself. She also has no teeth yet. Is she developing at a slower rate than normal?

children all develope at different rates and in their own time, my son didnt crawl till after he was 10 months.give her gentle encouragement but dont force her to do somethig that shes not ready for.all mothers want their children to develop normally and at the rate that all the other kids are, your not doing anything wrong because she hasnt crawled yet. my husband and i would get down on the floor and crawl around logan to show him how it was done.were all keen for them to develop and she will when she is ready. and im sure it will b a fantastis time for you both. :-)

My daughter is 7 months old is doing the same as yours. I am not concerned as she is happy and perhaps because she is my second. I remember being concerned with my son for the same reasons but then it all happened very quickly the crawling, the teeth the walking. Just enjoy her. Once she starts crawling she will be into everything!

Your daughter is just fine. My youngest son was 14 months old before his first tooth, NO JOKE!! but then he started cutting like 3 or 4 teeth at a time. She is still a little young for crawling but she probably isn't interested because she's already found a way to get around by rolling. My son was 8 months old when he started crawling and within a month after that he was taking his first steps. Trust me she will be doing all those things in no time. Good Luck!

Your daughter sounds normal. Some babies just love rolling around. Their enjoyment of this can slow their crawling, but at 7mo old, she's nowhere near behind. If you want her to get into a sitting position on her own, try putting her on her tummy. Chances are, she will grow tired of it, and try to roll to sitting. Don't know how mine did that, but that's how she got into sitting on her own for a long time. She had already learned to walk before she could sit up. She just figured out how to sit up from her back, no joke, 3 months ago. No teeth yet is totally normal. Those usually come in between 6mo-1yr old. Sometimes the first tooth is even late as 18mo.

Neither of my boys crawled. They did the army crawl when they wanted to get somewhere. Of course they were bigger babies than most. They both skipped the whole normal crawling. My oldest didn't walk till he was a year old and my 2yr. old didn't walk till he was fifteen months old and didn't sit up on his own till he was almost a year old. Every baby is different. My 2yr. old didn't get his first tooth until he was 7 months old. My mom-in-law said that her oldest son didn't get his first tooth till he was ten months old and it only happened because he bumped his mouth on a coffee table.

Is your daughter a bigger baby? If she is then that could be the problem. I wouldn't worry too much. I was concerned about my 2yr. old and my pedi assured me that he would do it when he was ready. She'll be doing all that stuff before you know it.

You still have a while before she starts crawling. After a year if she isn't crawling or trying to stand....i'd talk to her doctor. This would be a great question at her next check up. I'm always asking my daughters pediactrician questions about this kind of stuff.
