Stuff like Avon, Regal, Scentsy, Tupperware, Mary Kay, etc allow you to do most of the work online other than getting your brochures and things out and when you receive the items to deliver to your clients.

Most of the big "At home" companies like this do ask for a fee to join and get all your business stuff (brochures, business cards, product samples) and so on, but the fees are usually fairly minimal.

Most of the companies that promise "full-time wage for part-time work" and ask for a huge fee to even talk to them are scams. You are better off checking out the established direct-sale companies like Avon, etc and checking out any company through the Better Business Bureau before you get involved.

You have to decide how much time and effort you want to put into them, but most of the companies like Avon can actually get you making a decent amount of money.

There are other jobs you can get if you have a marketable skill by signing up for sites like Elance, Guru, etc -- these sites let you bid on freelance jobs you are qualified for and you get paid by the job - again, you have to check out the client and any feedback about them before you accept a job.

I work at home doing medical transcription but I took a certification course to do it. There are jobs you can do online but some require certification so you could always look into what education requirements there are for that type of thing too.

Also, with most of the work-at-home options you are responsible for doing all your own tax work, withholding your own taxes from your wage instead of your employer doing that for you. You also have to be aware of the legalities of being "self-employed" in your area.
