Need some advice, I have 6 month old who just wants to be held. I've tried a sling and honestly we didn't like it. I usualy put a blanket with toys on the floor and she likes that for a few minutes. She also has a swing which she likes for a few min. too. After, that what else can i do to keep her entertained for a WHILE!!!! so that i could get stuff done :) Any tips? What works for you?

Sorry Mama, but it is time for some tough love. I know we hate to see them cry, but you might just have to let her cry it out a bit. When you put her on the floor, just give her 1 toy. When she starts to fuss, switch it out for something new. Keep doing this over and over. Each new toy should give you a little more time. The first couple of days, you won't be able to get much done. But if you don't pick her up, she should start to understand. Good luck, I know it will be tough. I went through this with my daughter.

Do you have a bouncer? My kids loved bouncers and some of the come with toy bars. You can put her in it in any room you are in and if she starts fussing and kicking, it will bounce her. That might help calm her. Also try playing music. I don't know what kids you listen to but, my kids liked all kids at young ages. Sometimes you just have to let them fuss a little. My kids are 15, 13, 11, 9, and 2 1/2. You have to be able to get things done and sometimes letting them fuss a bit is the only way to do it.

I think I'm going to try the walker or bouncer next. We'll see. I was thinking of buying a Bumbo to help her sit up ( she's not sitting up unsupported yet ). Can't let her cry it out too long because we live in a apartment ( wish I could :) ) So we'll see. thanks for the tips

does she sit up fairly well? we did a walker, the pack and play, or a johnny jump up. other than that, i learned to do a fair share of chores one handed. i leave the two handed stuff for when my husband gets home. i played music on a portable radio and my daughter would just bat at it while it played for a bit.

Talk to her while you are doing things. Don't pick her up and just keep reassuring her that she is fine. My 8 month old was that way and still is some days. She will slowly become indepentent(sp) on her own. Patience is the key! I promise it will get better! I used to do all my housework durning naps, oh wait I still do, now it is a habit.
