I enrolled my 2 year old in a toddler program 2 times a week. I'm running out of options to keep her entertained and happy throughout the rest of the week. Any advice?

Thank you so much for your response and advice! I take my little one on plenty of walks and bike rides. I feel she is getting bored of the coloring books and books at home. I'm def going to give the library a try, washing random dishes/lids and coloring on other items besides her coloring books. Hopefully this will keep her busy. Thank you for all your advice and much needed help :) Have a blessed day.

The one thing I know 2 year olds and children of a young age love is to do things with someone! They love having a buddy, especially mom or dad!

There are So many things you can do with your two year old! A lot of libraries have a day where they have a "story time" hour-- check with your library because they are so much fun for toddlers! As long as your at the library let your child pick out books to read at home for the week-- I have limited my daughter to 3 books at the library, because we also have books at home that she enjoys and that way we will read the books we get from the library more than once.

Another thing, that gets a little wet, is "washing dishes". I usually take a bunch of lids, toddler forks and spoons, some plastic cups and fill the sink with water and bubbles, pull up a chair for her to stand at and we wash dishes together.

You could go on adventure walks and talk about things you find-- it may seem obvious to talk about plants, bugs, etc. but to a 2 year old this is all new, and so facts you have about why the sky is blue or that this bug is a rollie pollie and this one is an ant will facinate them.

You can also see what type of curriculum the toodler program has and expand upon it. If they are talking about sea animals you could go to a pet store-- or even walmart to their fish section and see the different types of fish they have...

If you are a Dr. Pepper drinker (and are living near salt lake) they have cans they have made where if you buy an adult ticket you can get a child in free ($12.75 per adult ticket) and you can go spend a day at the zoo... I find the ticket price a little expensive, but we had a super fun day at the zoo a few weeks ago.

Coloring paper towel/ toilet paper rolls is always an exciting distraction from coloring in color books or on paper and if you cut out 4 circles and tape/ glue them on and you have a car! Or if you cut out a triangle and tape/glue it to the top you have the makings of a house, or the beginning of a very big city :) I also had been saving my formula cans from my baby and I took off the lable, washed it, and my daughter spent quite some time putting stickers on it... now she likes to 'collect' things to put in a can. This could work with other household boxes/ cans that you have used.

My last resource that I can think of is pintrest., if you're a fan? They have so many ideas to keep a child busy! And sometimes a good old Dsiney movie never fails :)

I hope these help! 2 year olds take alot of time!
