My house never seems to be clean!! The only time my house is clean is when my teenager is in school, 5 year old is in playschool, 3 year old is resting in the afternoon and my one year old is napping!! That lasts about 2 hours or so, and then it is back to the way it was before I had the time to clean it!! It seems to be a never ending story...and that doesn't even include laundry!!

I'm glad I am not the only one out there who is in the same boat!!

I hear ya! I have a 21 month old and a 5 month old. My oldest is like a tornado! There is nothing more frustrating and sad than having your clean laundry (that you struggled so hard just to get the time and energy to wash/dry/fold) thrown all over the floor especially if you haven’t got the floor vacuumed yet. Grrrrrr! Too bad wrinkly clothes weren’t in style, lol! For me, I will do the laundry while they are sleeping and I put it away when they are waking up in the morning or from nap. I throw some toys in the crib and I leave them to play while I put their clothes away. For the toys: I suggest having an area designated for all of his toys (for us, it’s his bedroom) and have a rule that only 2 or 3 toys are aloud out of this area at a time. They have to put back one of the 2 or 3 toys before they can bring out another toy. Also get organized with toy bins that have lids on them that your son can't get off. Label them ie; things with wheels, dinosaurs, arts and crafts etc. We only bring one bin out at a time. My little mess maker would dump all of his toys on the floor and it drove me crazy. We went out and got some small clear storage totes (from Canadian tire) with locking lids so that he couldn't get the lids off. It really relieved a lot of stress. I can’t say everything is perfectly clean and that everything is in it’s place because that just never happens when you have kids!

My daughter is the same way! I try not to worry about any mess she makes during the day, other than trying to contain the mess to one room. I figure if by rare chance someone comes by that they should understand that babies mean mess. I tidy up the toys after she goes to bed so at least when I get up in the morning it doesn't stress me out. I also have her toys separated into smaller boxes with snap-close lids that she has yet to figure out how to open (although she has learned that mommy will open them for her if she brings them over). This way she has access to limited toys at a time. I've also tried to make a game of cleaning up, she thinks throwing her building blocks back in their box is great fun.

I have more of a problem dealing with the mess my husband leaves for me...I feel like he's old enough to at least put his dishes by the sink, put his shoes in the closet or fold the blanket on the couch after he uses it...

I swear there are some days I don't even bother. Not matter which area I clean that our 14 month old has access too, she's making a mess. We only have two baby gates and one of those is now broken from her trying to climb on it. Some days, I don't even have energy or if I'm sick I just wanna stay in bed.

I'm seriously thinking about redesigning her room to keep out occupied in there and her mess contained to only one part of the apartment.

I like to clean up after the kids are in bed - that way I go to be with a clean house and wake up to a clean house which is a big mood booster but during the day when my 3 year old and 16 month old are playing I just pick up here and there so it isn't distroyed by the end of the day...

I was thinking earlier (I used to stress too..before the twins =) but I have lot's of bins and baskets, all over the house for storage. I like those bins that fit under the bed, great for toy's!!! Good for you to not stress about it (try anyway) life's too short =)

I have a 3 yr old, 2 yr old and 6 month old twins...clean house!?!?...forget about it...I say as long as the toilet is clean, the dishes and laundry is done, don't stress about the rest. You have the rest of your life to have a clean house but not the rest of your life to spend with your babies (they grow up too fast =)

clean n forget. i was stressing myself out and my husband said, "Baby, you try to do too much. I rather have a dirty house and a happy wife than a clean house and stressed wife."
